If you fancy eating a mince pie in England this Christmas Day,
you could find yourself in legal hot water.

But nip across the border into Wales or Scotland,
and you can tuck into this festive treat to your heart's content.

Liverpool

It is illegal for a woman to be topless in public except as a clerk in a tropical fish store.

Chester

You can only shoot a Welsh person with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight.

Hereford

You may not shoot a Welsh person on Sunday with a longbow in the Cathedral Close.

but apparently you can still shoot a scotsman with a bow and arrow in York....except on a Sunday

I wonder what the reasoning behind this law was

Any person found breaking a boiled egg at the sharp end will be sentenced to 24 hours in the village stocks (enacted by Edward VI).

Lol Lynda.....we know the reasoning behind your law

that's an odd number...79p

Update.....

None of you can come to stay with me because.....

Lol and Lol

bet you have broken this law

if a poststage stamp with the Queens head on is placed upside down it is counted as Treason, which still carries the death penalty. Hmm do you think the Queen knows of this law?

All English Men over 14 are meant to carry out 2 hours of longbow practice each weekand supervised by the local clergy. This law dates from the middle ages when there was no regular British army and local gentry were ordered to train a quota of knights, archers, infantry, etc.

hmmm, seem like most of the country have broken the law.
