When I bought my first house in the late 60's it was a back to back house in a terrace of houses. The insurance in proportion to the cost of the house was way over the top compared when in later years we moved into a detached bungalow away from the next door neighbours.

It was explained to me that if a back to back house set fire for example the chances are that other homes would be affected and if not destroyed they would have to be shored up in order to protect them

In a detached house the chances of the the next door catching fire, or being affected by an accident perhaps a runaway vehicle colliding with the house is less than living in a confined area.I would think with all the apartment living nowadays the insurance on such properties will be sky high, excuse the pun.If someone has a fire or a flood it doesn't just affect the one property, it could involve 3 or 4 homes. A very costly outlay for the insurance firm for a reasonable sized home.-jl

No one who,s visited seems to mention the Maids(Scullery) footmen Butlers (She Has Two) and all her other Skivvies, :-D I bet they,ve got a few moans (Low Pay,Sleeping in unheated Attics) and only getting the leftovers to eat if the Chef lets them have it. :-D :-D :-D ;-) How the Mega Rich Live,its unbelievable,I wonder if she shops in the Pound Shop?? :-D :-D

Bet she,s got a Fleet of Bentleys and Royces complete with drivers in tight uniforms (To tempt Prickles and co) probably a Private Jet as well.AQnyway now we all know, thats the place to go for a Freebee Holiday,unless its a Bognor (Then it might be Butlins) and you know what was said about that ., (Bu--er Bognor) :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-)

Strangely enough I got a much better deal going through a big bad bank than i did from the more well known ins company !!! x

I found that putting smoke alarms in the library and flame proof curtains in the billiards room had a marked effect on the premiums. Getting rid of my fireworks and the oil lamp collection from the hayshed seemed to work as well.

I reckon it must be the Local Town Hall she lives, :-S or the local Lord of the Manors House with Acres of land, pools ,lakes and holiday lodges to have paid so much,and quite obvious she works in Banking and gets a big fat bonus. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-0 :-S
