Get some legwarmers to hold the bottoms of your trousers close to your ankles, Shirley, I think they became trendy again recently lol Extra warmth for your ankles.

My late Mum used to wear them to keep her arthritic ankles warm, Mum wasn't much of a one for trousers so wore them with her dresses or skirts round the house.

I knitted some for my son when he was little and in a pushchair, they covered the gap between trouser bottoms and socks cos his trouser legs always rode up when he was sitting in the buggy. Used a cardigan sleeve pattern but knitted the tops on bigger needles so the ribbing was looser, the cuff parts were round his ankles.

Prickles . Funny you say that lol
Oh has said I should wear socks so can tuck the trouser in . he may have a point.

My trouser do have flappy bottoms cos as a big girl the trousers are in proportion to the hip size,

Course the ideal would be lose the fat so take a smaller trouser but thats a pipe dream, As grt grandma I have given up with the dieting thing and all its problems .I dont overeat cos a have a big Hiatus hernia but I refuse to be a slave to calorie counting , been there .wore the tee shirt , and gone back to where I was .

Aw you poor thing Shirley.

I am pleased to hear that you were not too badly injured.

Perhaps you should invest in some bycicle clips or tuck your trousers in your socks like my Grandad use to do. :-D

Take care...Prickles.

AnnMarieG ouch !!

I know what you mean our bed is built in too like yours we have wardrobes each side which jut out each side. A few months ago there a big crash which woke me up, the cat jumped off the bed and did a runner down the stairs. There was the phone, jewellery box and glass ornaments over the floor on his side that had come from the drawer units under the window, OH was on the floor on his side of the bed all tangled up in the duvet.

He had got out of bed to go to the bathroom and caught his foot in the top sheet that I have under the duvet and went down , luckily he missed hitting himself on any units but as a dead weight and sandwiched in I couldnt shift him . eventually after I got him out of the bedclothes and chucked em over the other side of the room he managed to sit himself up and shuffle on his bum around to the bottom of the bed and we both managed to hoist himself up ,

At 3am in the morning I was washing the carpet cos unfortunately he peed himself .

Shirley, so glad you are not feeling too bad today and no black eye.Thats a bonus.
My oh has a lovely shiner this morning and no I didnt give it to him.lol.
Every couple of months or so he falls out of bed in his sleep.Usually he is dreaming he is playing football, swings his leg back, kicks me then goes to score a goal and then falls out of bed. the trouble being our bed is build into cuboards and the cabinet at the side sticks out a bit and he usually hits his head on this.Last time it was a big bump this time he cut his forehead above his eye, hence the shiner.I keep telling him at 72 and 18stones he is too old to play footie.lol. ;-)

Thanks everyone. Yes i am a bit sore and stiff this morning. Fortunately no black eye. but the cheek bone has a swelling and there is abrasions too from the jute hall runner. My hands are aching to from time to time but I have osteoarthritis. just diagnosed, in them so the pain is more arthritic than bruised.

OH says I should buy some trousers with narrower bottoms cos I have done this before but not onto a ceramic floor which isn't very forgiving.Maybe though my fat does have a good side as it was a cushion against more serious injuries . Thats my story and I,m sticking to it !! lol

It's so easy to be distracted and trip, I have done it myself, and it shakes you up, doesn't it, never mind the bruises.

When I caught my specs on the door frame of the car getting out one day they flew onto the road and broke, I claimed on my house insurance and got quite a bit towards a new pair, had to pay the excess tho.

Hope you can get your specs sorted out and will feel better soon, take care, would say take more water with it lol but maybe you hadn't had the stiff drink at the time lol

Oh Shirley, hope you are feeling ok. Earlier to-day I tripped over a lead on the floor, luckily I did not fall. After I realised that if I had I would have hit the side of the bath with my head. May not have been here to post this. You take care.

from experience of falling in 2010 you will probably find more bruises tomorrow Shirley. I hope you don't feel too sore though. If you have to replace your glasses it might be worth checking your insurance. It was fortunate that you didn't hit your head though. Hope the shock is wearing off now. :-)

Hope you are OK Shirley and manage to get some rest tonight.
If you feel rough tomorrow perhaps you should get your bruises etc. checked incase there is damage which can be put right sooner rather than later.
