We have caller display and don't answer any calls with number withheld etc. Friends who are ex directory know to give three rings them ring back. We are too remote to get callers to the door. |

Shirley, I am ex directory, but have found that the number I was given when I moved in was previously used by someone else and recycled by my internet provider, so I get lots of calls 'for' that person even though they have never lived here, that will hopefully change when I go with a different provider in a couple of weeks, |

I seldom answer my phone, Rose, and keep it on permanent Answerphone (or is it spelled Ansafone? :-D). I also vet the doorbell ringers by squinting from behind the lace curtains. *sighs happily...heady stuff this hermit business, I would recommend it! :-D |

a hermit! The phone rings seemingly constantly with scammers, sellers, random hoi polloi etc, at least twice a week someone knocks on the door promoting religion or trying to sign me up for charity giving...I just want to be left alone lol. |
