Always loved Ironbridge & Blists Hill. Something new to see every time & not too far from you.
As my Dad used to say, If I was going there, I wouldn´t start from here in the first place. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

I'd like to get one similar to the one I left behind in Wales Merlin, pinky/peach/yellow with a very strong scent of tea and oranges :-D but hopefully one less prone to blackspot lol.

Well you,re not too far from David Austins, also he,s on line ,you can see them and order them to be delivered, he has so many, but the newer ones with the old fashioned fragrances are good, the plus is that lots of the usual snags with the old ones have been bred out. :-D

Merlin, I will be getting a rose for the garden this year, well I say the garden, it is for outside the front window which has about 4 feet of grass and looks straight out on an unmade road and lots of parked cars :( so I need something pretty to look out at and to stop people peering in so much lol.

From here, Rose, usually up Derbyshire, somewhere. Plenty of choices, and we do have the lovely Chatsworth House. Also by the canals on these lower levels. But, definitely around a Garden Centre, especially if it is not one we have been to before.
Also, in the summer, we like to go and look at other peoples gardens, that they open for MacMillan Nurses.
Wouldn't mind a day out around your place' minihousenut.' As you say, some lovely places around there to go.

minihousenut I'm in Shropshire, has to be on the train routes so was thinking of Ludlow, but as the weather's about to turn cold might have to delay for a while lol.

Still interested to know what people have enjoyed though :-D

It Depends on where you are situated, I try to get down to the New Forest. its nice and tranquil there if you go out of season. or else a decent Rose Garden Like David Austin. nice pubs in Albrighton for a light meal etc and I usually end up buying a few roses.**M**.

or have been in the past that was interesting or better than you expected?

Dan and I were talking about having a day out as we can't afford to stay over anywhere, so just pondering on where is within easy reach that would have something interesting to us both :-D
