I was looking forward to a better New Year than last. year.
I am five days into 2012 and already it is becoming a bad year. I have cancer and it has started to grow so I am waiting to see if I am to have an operation. at the end of the month.

My younger son (married and with three children ) has been told he needs an operation on his eye to save his vision.

why do some family get all the trouble and problems others sail though the months and years without any.?
I dont wish ill health on anyone but it is hard to carrying on when you wonder why ?

Rita, I am sorry to hear of your health problem and your son's. I hope the op will be a success for him and that you may not need an op. Will be thinking of you.

Rita, try not to worry too much about your son, if the problem has been caught in time his op will probably do the job and he will be ok. Worrying won't help your own problem which I am sorry to hear about and I hope you won't need an op but can be helped with other treatment.

Don't forget you have us all here to think lots of positive thoughts for you and your son, and to listen if/when you want to offload.

Good luck to you both.

Hi Rita - 2012 not too good for starters here either!!! Son in hospital at 5:00 am Christmas morning - he is plagued with ingrowing hairs and at the moment is fighting off a perianal abscess with antibiotics!!! Daughter in law rushed in for emergency operation yesterday morning for a detached retina - waiting to hear today if all went well - she's still in hospital

Hope you get some good news soon Rita

pleased to report daughter in law home from hospital - surgeon says it was a successful op but she can't see anything through that eye - however, he informed her that this is usual!!! big sigh of relief :-D

See your luck is turning Ann, hope your daughter's eye is ok and that your son's problem is soon sorted out. My o.h.'s sons both had to have ops for ingrowing hairs, I saw a chap on one of those Medical programmes where the doctors go to different cities etc (can't remember what it's called) and I think in the end he had to have treatment to remove all the body hair from the areas where it kept growing in - had electrolysis type treatment I think.

I know it can be very painful, my son wears a beard as he has the problem on his throat, but is constantly fiddling with the beard, luckily he doesn't seem to have any major problems but have warned him to be wary of ingrowing hairs in other less obvious places.

Ann hope your son responds to the antibiotics and your DiL's sight is eventually OK.

Julie I hope that your health is now on the 'up'. And I am sorry to hear about your cousin.
