18-20 at the moment its bloomin freezin...brrrrrrrrrr :-(

18...but just over 20 if it's especially cold...but it'd have to be snowing for that lol x

As I understand it the thermostat only governs the place it is situated. The heat from the radiators is supposed to be worked out by their size. So if the thermostat is in a cold hallway it could be switching the rest of the system to accommodate the hall.

I was told by the heating engineer that it was better to have individual thermostats.

My car is always set at 22 (unless I am freezing) and that feels comfortable.jl

19/20 but the heating goes off at 10.30 and comes on again at 6.30 then goes off at 10.30 and on again at 4.30pm. House stays warm, walls are insulated and double glazing fitted.

25 rads on 5 and gets upped if it turns colder and up again when it freezes all day. just turned clock off and over to as and when we want it..........I wont be cold for nothing..

i have all my radiators at number 5, altho heating goes of an hour before bed, or the bedrooms to stuffy lol,

but i put my heating on as little as possible haha

I cant move much and sleep a lot so doesnt bother me what down here is like as I just crawl into bed and snuggle down and fire upstairs keeps bedroom warm enough.

Mine is always 28, it doesnt come on otherwise.

we dont have double glazing so guess if we dd have would be like toast in here at 18.

RR our boiler is behind the hideous gas fire in the front room so no danger of it waking me up mind you once asleep herd of elephants probably wouldnt wake me up.

21 - have individual rad thermostats apart from diningroom where there is a wall one and that is on 21.

Bedrooms are on No,.2 - do not like hot bedrooms. Bathroom heated rail/rad on No.3 whatever that might be.

Again depends on age and mobility - children running about and playing will not need higher temps whilst I have little mobility feel the cold quicker.

Curtians all lined and drawn/ walls cavity insulated some 30 years, loft insulated and boarded over plus double glazing.

Had a new boiler installed 2 years ago. Cannot see anything else to conserve heat but willing to learn!

mines set at 21, thats what the man who fitted my boiler set it at, but my house isnt overly warm,

18 at the very most, and I turn it right down at night as the boiler is below my bedroom and if it kicks in wakes me up, sounds like a helicopter is landing lol.

We have individual thermostats on each radiator, but only the ones in living-room, kitchen and bathroom are on. We don't like heated bedrooms.

We don't have an overall room thermostat, but it would be about the same as your's I'd guess Dawn.

21 would be way too warm for OH.

watching something on tele the other week and they said that the temp they advise is 21 c below that is considered too cold?

We have ours set about 18c at the most yes we have a woodburner as well in lounge and one in our bedroom but they are only on tickover to keep it at that temp and heating rarely comes on only if thy go out.

Dont think I could afford to have it at 21 all the time as would be prmanently on
