Sure it wasn't those nasty herons Merlin. We had two visits from them over the years now we out the netting on end of March and leave till end of May. They finish breeding then and usually the pond is covered with lily pads etc by then.

i havent bothered much at all lately, i have fb on my phone so tend to just use that, altho i peek in if im on my lappy, altho not much to add to lately,

We put some fish in the pond in may.as others died last winter , one vanished within a week ..and it was a heron that took it .as saw it one morning ,so we got a net & all seems okay still got the three left

I can only agree with Ann and BC, I said so on another not long ago that the board has lost its umph...or to me it has, although the remaining (some) people here are all very friendly and very polite and have been so to me, I do still feel at times I am snooping in to a private conversation. People at times tend to talk over your head, but I just keep away it thats how they want it, I cant be bother with silly people. Some are new to me some not, I do tend avoid some but have got to know a few abit better. I sitll love the support from here, talking of such I called round to see poor Jeniwren earlier she is devastated poor love.

Awwww good girl Hayley. I was thinking of Jeniwren and the fact that you had met. THIS is one of the very strong, compassionate sides to GR, in my opinion. BCXX <3

Just seen on the Friendlies thread that they have got 3 lads for it. some who had previously threatened to 'get her back' for something. It beggars belief that teenagers would stoop so low as to kill beautiful animals to 'get back' at somebody. They are sick and I hope they throw the book at them. Next time it may be a child or even an adult human they 'get back.

Hayley, so good of you to go and see Jeniwren. She must be in pieces. If t were me, they would have to be restraining me from wanting to get hold of those concerned, and do them some serious damage. You couldn't believe it, if you read it in the papers.
Hope she is able to keep her spirits up, though I know that must be a hard thing to do.

Its nice to know you are back, and especially making up a new thread.
Since I last sent you a message, a lot has been happening. My youngest son has joined the navy, and I am trying to sort through my belongings, as my home will be put up for sale in the new year.

I havent been very well lately with breathing problems, but now that the warmer weather has surely arrived, I should be on the mend.

I felt really upset after reading about the horses dying. It doesnt help to think it could be pay back either.
Why arent kids taught to sort out their problems in a congenial way these days?

Hi Julia,

I think the boards went quiet and many people left after the combination of Chat and General happened.
I have a lot else going on in my life so don't post much and if I add a thread at night or in the early hours, people didn't seem to acknowledge it often so it would lie there till I got back on the next night, so now I don't often bother.

Shame really, it used to be lots of fun and interesting stuff on both boards, but not the same any more.

Hope you manage to fit in all you want to do next Spring.

Hope everyone is well.

I dont post during the day, because I am at work. Still.

I manage to get on for an hour or so during the evening. I find I tend to 'talk' to the same people, but would love to 'talk' to others. I dont do Facebook, so cannot comment about that.

Anyone want to talk to me, and join my thread please do, all newcomers really welcome.

We may be madder than a box of frogs, but we are harmless.
