i married young(17)and i was fairly young when my children became adults,they got older and older,my friends were becoming grandparents and i was left thinking it was never going to happen to me,and then at the grand old age of 45 my 21yr old son told me i was going to become a nanny and i was overjoyed,14mslater my daughter had a beautiful baby girl who is now 1wk away from her 1st birthday and what a joy they both are to me and hubby,when my 4 children were little money was tight(only one wage coming in)so they didnt get what they needed or wanted(got lots oflove instead)
but now my grandchildren are here i can afford to spoil them just a bit,and the icing on the cake is ,my eldest son has just found out that at the age of 28 he will become a father for the first time in feb,so i will have 3 grandchildren(the more the better) lifes good.x :-D :-D :-D

I was 32 when I had my only daughter. She is now 22 so I am 54 and waiting.................!!!!

I was 37 when I became a Granny. Now I have 4 grandchildren and I love it. I am much more relaxed and confident with them than I was with my own 4 children as I don't have the worry of 'getting things right'.
I have a fridge magnet which says " If I'd known how much fun grandchildren were, I'd have had them first". Lol. :-D

My mother married at 16 and had her first child at 17.
That sister married at nearly 21 and had her first child at 22.
My younger sister married when she was 20 and had her first child at 23
I married at 24 and had first child at 25( lost one at 24)

I have the same motto on my fridge and a cusion which says " if mum says no ask grandma!

I was 38 when I became a gran first time, now have 9 granchildren and was 61 when I became greatgrandma. Unfortunately don't see them often as they're spread all over the country

My mother was 32 when she had me, I also was 32. My youngest had my first granchild when she was 18. and I was 55. My eldest son is having a baby in 4 weeks and I will be 67. I have daughters youngest 3 days a week and in holidays all 3, do find it hard work but love it.

Just hope I can find enogh energy for new baby.

My great aunt was 35 when she had her first grandchild, but now at 67 she's still not a great-grandmother.

I became a grandma for the first time on May 30th and I was 65 yesterday. When my daughter goes back to work I will be looking after my granddaughter :-)

I became a grandma at 41 and am now a grt grandma of 4 .The first grt grandchild was born when I was 59 and made our daughter a grandma at 38.

I married 1st husband at 17 had first of 4 children at 18, married my 2nd hubby at 35 and had our son at 37, 18 months later my eldest daughter made me a grandmother and over the years this was added to by my other children to 4 grandsons and 6 grandaughters my youngest now age 25 giving me a beautiful granddaughter Grace just 3 months ago but when I was 59 my eldest grandson made me a great grandmother , added to all these I have 12 step grandchilden and 2 step greatgranchilden who all call me Nanny and only one has ever called me step!!! , very expensive at christmas but worth every penny

If your parents didn't have any children, it's very unlikely you would have any either.

Now I have 9 grandchildren & 7 grt grand children .....

I had my first child when I was 21yrs old, I have 4 children youngest 13yrs old
My 24yr old son made me a grandma for the first time on the 17th June 2011 at age of 49yr

Became a Nan at 37 and about to become Great Grandma in November and l will be just 58 :-0

Still waiting :-0

l was 57 when granddaughter was born and 58 when grandson was born. l'm now 62 so wont be having great g children just yet!!!...lol

i was 18 yrs old when i married
had my second son when i was 20yrs old. first one was still born .
i became a nanny in jan 1988 when i was 45 , my g/granddaughter was born last August she is a yr old today lol , then have another g/grandchild to be born in Jan 2012.
I have 8 grandchildren in all .

Had my first child at 21 and first grandchild at 48, now got 5 Grandchildren and am 71, eldest grandchild getting married next yesr all being well.

Had my first child at 17, second at 20. My first, and only, grandchild was born when I was 38. He is now 23, but is not yet ready for any children of his own so I don't think I will be a great nan for a while yet and daughter, who is 42, said she doesn't want to ever be a grandmother. If and when it happens, I know she will be over the moon as I was when my grandson was born.

I now can understand why my Mum was shocked to be a Grandmother at 41 :-)
