OK then... Apart from said problem on Dad's side, I'd like to learn more about Mum's GG uncle who left Herefordshire and went to New Zealand c. 1859.
He married a part Maori lady, so meeting up with their many descendants and learning more of their culture would be fascinating.

To answer Gwyn either .....like Rose I'd like the trip to Ireland as Ithink they came over from Dublin possibly during the pototoe famine the dates match, I do find the women interesting but would like to see what I could dig up and I would like to see the bits they add, her father was a tailor and Sparks isnt a tipical Irish name, and they are bit brickwall :)

RS that sounds interesting... :-D

I would ask for help with my 4th great grandfather on my mums side Abraham Nowell. We have been searching for his birth for years, several possibilities but they all seem to have be claimed by someone else.

Although I think even WDYTYA would be stumped with this one. I have almost given him up as a lost cause.

I would ask for help with my maternal grandfathers side. He was half Swedish, half Latvian, and destroyed his passport, birth cert and naturalisation papers.

Would this be for interesting story.... or for brickwall-hope-to tumble- line?

I have sat for hours in a Record Office looking for parents of my 3 x great grandfather, so wonder how they could get past that hurdle of about 14 years looking.
