Yes Merlin, I like your lighter note, in addition to attending Spiritulist meetings occasionally and enjoying more of the other sort of spirits, would that make me a multi- spirited person?-jl

Yep, l've been many times and as Liz says....there is no way the medium would have known me or anything about the message. If they knew me they certainly did'nt know the situation.

I have had a few readings over several years & i can vouch for the truth of them - same sort of experience as LIZ had.

No-one else would have known about the things i was told.

i use to be a member of a Spiritualist church but fell out witht he person in charge - so don't feel i can go back again. Which is a great shame as i loved it so.

I am looking for a good medium in the area - where i live there are loads of people offering readings but most of them just guess or suggest & try & pull info from you. never the sign of a good reading if you ahve to keep supplying the info.

I hope you enjoy your visits to the church - its a wonderful feeling being there & knowing your family are all around you - watching over you & seeing what you get up to. Even if you find yourself alone again in this life - always believe your family are near you & you are never truely alone in this world.

I know they will be waiting for me when its my time to join them

Its nice to see that people can talk about this again on here (Previously they were ridiculed over it by certain people). But on a lighter note, The only spiritual church I go to Occasionally is called The Rose and Crown and the Spirits are great. ;-) **M**

To Essex BaZ, not sure where your message is going. Are you saying there is 'no singing' meaning that isn't your cup of tea or complaining because they do sing, just the same as other churches.
To pose the question if anyone has seen a psychic for a reading, I would think thousands of people have had a reading and I don't think they would be bothered whether others believed or not. A reading is a personal message and as such becomes a personal belief, either take the message or dismiss, it is down to choice. -jl

I had a message once from my late Mum, and there was a woman who did drawings of who she 'saw' while her friend passed on the messages. The picture was definitely my mother, the first thing the woman said was: This lady always wears a hat and looks quite serious' Well that was my Mum, and the message she gave was about something no one knew I had done, which was polishing a step at the top of a flight of stairs. No one was in the house when I did it - I was too lazy to get a damp sponge to wipe off a sticky coffee stain (on a wooden threshold of a bedroom doorway) and I had cleaned it off with spray polish. Later I slipped on the spot and thought to myself, better not polish that again, but wipe it clean if it happens again. The woman was also telling me about my mother's ailments and mentioned that there was another rather personal health problem which she would tell me later. She also said Mum had a budgie in the house when she died. I checked later and the private illness she mentioned was correct. I believed before the message came so it just convinced me more.

I have had during my lifetime many strange experiences (and no I am not doolaly).

The first I was 21 , married with a young baby when I saw my gma who I did not recognise at first and was annoyed that this old lady had got into my house, she died when I was 11. I grabbed the pram and fled! About 4-6 weeks later her son who was my father died suddenly and unexpectedly not in his home but in mine.

Explain it - 50 years on I cannot.

Me, not religious at all, but did have a strong belief in some form of afterlife, ghosts, spirits, call it what you want, but for a while now, my beliefs are beginning to wain. I have considered either going to a psychic, or spiritual church, but just for a chance to see what happens, no singing etc, not my cup of tea. As for the psychic, I have a completely open mind, but erring on the side of disbelief. Has anyone actually seen or heard a ghost, seen a psychic for a reading/message from the beyond, or can convince me of an afterlife.

I find it strange that it is a church and not a science. Life and death are more relevant to the general population than is the universe.

I am curious but thought that if someone who had died wanted to communicate with me, they would do so. I am a bit worried that by opening myself to these things I may be pestered by something I don't want! :-S

I met my o.h. at a wedding in a spiritualist church lol, should have put me off for life!

His stepmum goes every week and I sometimes go along if there is a particularly good medium attending. I find it friendly and interesting and it's where I had a message from my late Mother. If I had the time and it was easier to get to without so much walking, I would probably go more often but no really for the services, more for the medium meetings.

Give it a try for a few visits and see how you get on. It's a good way to meet new people as well, I am sure many of them you would get on with once you got to know them better.

I like to visit churches when they are empty, some are very beautiful.

I don't go to any church if I can avoid it. I do attend for the odd christening/wedding/funeral, although not for a few years now.

I can appreciate (some) churches for the beauty of the architecture and 'decoration' for want of a better word. Sacre Coeur in Paris is beautiful. I admit to trying not to remember how the money was raised in order to build them though.*

Off topic, have you changed your profile pic because it seems slightly different?

*At the time of admiring the beauty/architecture that is.
