hmmm.. well from what I've gathered today via various media outlets...Delhi police have absolutely no idea about this *sighting* and Clarence Mitchell (the McCanns spokesman) said at the weekend, when this first materialised, that they were waiting on DNA reports......

Sounds like a hoax to me tbh x

Muffyxx Report 28 Jul 2011 23:43

The police took their passports ?

and yet.......they're denying all knowledge !!!!!!!

someone is fibbing !!!

From sky......Philippa Hall Our producer in Delhi has spoken to police, who say they've not heard about the DNA test or sighting of Madeleine ..

" the French woman and her Belgian husband, who had their passports copied by Leh Police, insist that they are the parents of the girl.
A spokesman for Leh police told the Chandigarh Tribune in India: 'It all depends upon the evidence like DNA for which help from Madeleine's parents and the British police was required.'"

What they're also not saying is that in the original newspaper article an American guy tried to grab the child away from this couple.

As the mother of a child the same age as Madeleine....and very similar in looks it has to be said...I'm more than a little concerned about that sort of mindset. For obvious reasons.

I'd strongly recommend NOT to go the grab route..if the child has a mother like me
:-(

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but refer to what Muffy said. The Leh police have no knowledge of the sighting or requests for DNA testing.

Mind anything that comes out of Clarence's mouth I would take with a pinch of salt, in fact a truck load :-P

Muffyxx Report 29 Jul 2011 00:14

Well if the *cops* are denying knowledge I don't have a bleedy clue how they took a DNA sample in the first place lol.

And with that thought I shall float off for the night......pondering as always........

Well believe the sanitised UK press all you like, me I'll pass thank you.

You are all entitled to your opinions and we are not all going to agree but hey ho that's life isn't it.

Doesn't mean I should shut up, four years of the same old one sided story gets my goat!

Yes you can RR me for having maintained the same opinion over this time span but it won't make me waiver from my beliefs.

The only person my heart breaks for is a child who was left night after night with her siblings whilst the parents were boozing...but as Kate stated "it was our holiday too" so that justifies their actions. Well not in my book!

SpanishEyes Report 29 Jul 2011 18:37

I have just read this as no comp or telphone for just over 5 days. Ibelieve that the family know why they are so sure that any of the sightings are not their daughter. I can just imaine what they would have said at lesast to themselves if this had been a working class mum and dad. In my profession of nursing (recentkly retired) no one I met could believe that they left their children out of there sight.
I will not say any more, I wish I could think otherwise. If one day I am proved to be wrong I will appologise publicly

28th July 2011 ITN News

CM: The PIs currently searching for Madeleine have been aware of this report from India since the weekend, and they’ve been working to establish its veracity. It seems that a couple with a child were witnessed by a number of people who thought that the child bore a resemblance to Madeleine and I think, in one case, a person tried to grab hold of the child. It was reported to the local police, which was absolutely the right thing for people to do under the circumstances and the police say that they checked the parent’s identities. The parents, apparently, denied that they were anything but the natural parents and the police have been looking into it. Now, the PI have been trying to get to the bottom of it themselves for the last few days and, I have to say that, sadly, so far, there is nothing to suggest that this sighting is any more credible than any of the many thousands that we’ve had over the last 4 years or so....

Clarence clearly says the police are looking into it......yet they're adamant they have no record of this.

Curious. :-S
