I was absolutely livid! lol So I walked into the shop (it was full) and asked a nice young man about the phone in the window for Old People. Yes,he nodded smiling. Well, ses I, I find it offensive. Now would you put a sign saying For Young People? No, he said, the smile disappearing.

Or, ses I, getting into my stride ad noticing the shop had gone very quiet. 'Would you put a sign saying 'For Fat People'?

'Ill take it out' he gulped. 'Good boy' said I and watched as he tore the sign up.

So empowering this old biddy stuff.... :-D :-D :-D

lol BC, my son has sorted out some phones to keep for when mine is dead, they are special ones with big illuminated numbers, no frills, just a 'phone'.

I personally wouldn't be offended, as I accept the fact that as I get older my fingers are less agile and my eyesight is even worse...but I can see that some would be offended, perhaps it would have been better to phrase it rather differently ;-)

O would probably have giggled a bit BC then pointed out that they were not being terribly diplomatic. Maybe they should have put 'a mobile phone for people who have trouble with eyesight and small keys. It is not necessarily 'old' people who have those problems.

It discriminates against us youngsters!

What’s a mobile phone by the way?

'FOR OLD PEOPLE' This was a handwritten sign in a shop near me,beside a mobile phone with large lettering.

Would you be offended at that?
