*sighs* I can assure you Kate McCann DID refuse to answer 48 questions..and if you want me to I can list them...I could also tell you a lot more that hasn't been reported in our media... my knowledge of this case comes directly from the official police files...not solely the UK press or Mrs McCanns book ..... it's all available online ..totally legal...totally public...all translated.. There are two sides to every story. You're only hearing the UK version.

Grannie of 12 I to am glad I got the book. I dont believe everything I read in the newspapers anyway. I cant understand why all the people who went home were not questioned. Seems things are done so differently over there.

I was reading the book back from Ireland today. It seems that the party had booked the Tapas bar every night and it was on show to the public?I am glad i am reading the book and not the newspapers.

Not read all the book yet but a lot of what was in the papers was not correct. Kate McCann answered questions, then was taken to the police station with her husband for 8 hours days later where he was questioned, to be told afterwards it was to late to question her again and she would be asked to come back. That did not happen until September.

I should imagine the Portugese police found Kate McCanns refusal to answer the 48 questions they put to her...and the whole groups refusal to attend a formal reconstruction exceptionally frustrating too. x

I have bought the book for the same reason as Grannie of 12.
How frustrating for the parents when Madeleine was found missing,
nothing seemed to be done by the police in any rush to find her.

I always hoped that as with most children, if she was abducted, she would require the attention of a doctor and go to school and that perhaps they would notice the unusual eye she has. recognise it and inform authorities.

Short birth certificates don't name the parents.
Easy enough to give the abducted child the name of a dead child, born about the same time, and get them a short birth cert.
Even if the surname is different, abductors can always claim they were adopted, or have the surname of their 'missing' father.

I did not buy it for any other reason that Royalties will go to help finding her.If found money will be used to find other missing children. After i started reading i some how thought,if this child is still alive? whoever holds her can fill her in with so much information about her early years. The only thing she cant get will be her birth cert?Any thoughts? The same for Ben Needlam. No birth certs
