You got to put up with pet hair if you have one.but, i would never let them go on spare beds or chairs that somebody has to sit on.

Most animals, espcially dogs, are pack animals, and in the wild would all sleep in a heap for warmth and protection. I therefore think that it is cruel to keep them away from their adopted human pack.

I don't know about humans, but going on the number of children some of my ancesters had, living in very small houses,I would think that they had no choice but to sleep like sardines in a tin.

As for pet hairs,if they bother you, then why have a pet at all? Perhaps a goldfish would be less trouble.

No i dont fancy sharing my bed with a pet.
I let the cat lie on top of the bed for a wee while before she is put to hers...down stairs.

If you colect the hair up you could make one of these lol

My dad's last dog was from a rescue centre, dad spoiled him rotten, he has his own chair to sleep on and his basket but not the beds.
When dad was unable to walk him he came to live with us..the dog.
He used to sneak up on the settee at night, so I used to put 2 dining chairs across it, hubby and were both working, children at school so I used to come home lunch times to check him out , he was used to his own company as he was used to spend a lot of his time...other than when he wanted a walk,on the landing at dads ,as the central heating pipes ran under there;) Then I used to find him on the beds, so it was all doors closed, ...we have a dormer bungalow, he then used to sneak upstairs to my dau's bedroom, who's door he could open ! As soon as I turned the key in the front door at lunchtime, he used to sneak downstairs .lol
No, I love dogs to bits.. not a cat lover, but would never harm one, but won't have them on the beds or furniture.
Sandie.

I never asked to share my dog's bed and by the same reason , refused to let him share mine (though he was not adverse to having a snooze when he discovered I had left the door unlocked when he could open the door)!

I have been sharing my bed with dogs and cats all my 62 years, and the only thing that I caught was an occasional flea bite.

There is nothing like a warm, furry body to cuddle up to on winter nights, much more preferable to a big, hairy ar""d,snoring, dribbling bloke, much though I love mine,he is relegated to the front bedroom.

Funny thing is,we only have four cats now,and quite by chance, two sleep with me,and the other two with OH.

Muffyxx Report 25 Jan 2011 13:05

Nope me neither....bedroom doors are closed to cats and dogs in this house ! (Though Scarlett does sneak on the sofa sometimes when she thinks I'm not looking... i turn a blind eye when OH isn't around lol) x

Letting sleeping dogs lie in your bed can make you sick, research suggests.
Pet owners may increase the chances of contracting everything from worms to the bubonic plague.
Of the 250 known diseases transmitted from animals to humans, more than 100 of them come from domestic animals,
