That's right Lyndi....the bloke from the cafe..and his wife Sue...I'd forgotten about that !! ...blimey that was years back but now I remember. She went a bit loopy loo la as a result didn't she ? x

Lyndi

Lyndi Report 21 Jan 2011 23:40

She did indeed, but in all honesty I think I went a bit loopy loo after I lost my middle child to cot death - it was like I just went through the motions of life on auto pilot for a while.
That was a long while ago though, and the daughter who was born 3 years after his death is expecting my first grandaughter later this year!

My Aunt lost her first baby Lyndi and she said the same...that she felt she lost two years of her life as she lost the ability to actually feel anything....Must've been absolutely dreadful for you. :0(

Congratulations on the granddaughter !!! How exciting !! You'll have to let us know when she's due...we do a good line in pacing here ! x

In reply to yopur post that was in reply to my last one Muffy. that is all very true and most of us would agree with you. But not everyone is as intelligent as you are, to some the soaps are so much part of their lives that they actually seem real, even though they know they really are not. (does that make sense?)

Muffyxx Report 22 Jan 2011 10:02

Yes it makes sense Ann. I guess you only have to look at Samantha Wommack being verbalised in the street after the baby swap story to see that it's the case. VERY sad though ! x

Hiya Ice...that's what I've done in the past...if i thought that a story could be a bit close to the knuckle for me I would just give it a miss x

Perhaps in many cases of people complaining about story lines in soaps, it is not 'just' the subject. The time these soaps are screened is before 9pm, in 'family' viewing time.

It is hard enough to have to explain tragedies to a child when it affects thier own family, without having these thrust down thier throats by scriptwriters of soaps. Especially when it is screened just before they are expected to settle down to sleep! Good material for nightmares!

i think the soAps are publicised well before so as adults we have enough time to decide if the kids can watch it or not,
