I had a heart attack 10 yrs ago and was diagnosed with diabetes, Dr. said I had to have the pneumonia jab, just went with the flo. Unless you have underlying problems I would recommend it. Pneumonia is a killer.

Florence - Carol has had it and so have I. Ask at your surgery. Trust your GP - must have been coincidence. They are two different infections.

Michael - if your OH had it whilst she had a chest infection I am not surprised. First thing they ask are you well, have you a temperature, are your sure?

hi chris. not heard of a pnemonia jab, it was just the general flu jab they offer you every year that i had. you have to get it every year because it changes depending on the type of flu virus thats about.

i did query with my gp when i was better, but he said as it was not a live vaccine it could not have caused pneumonia, but still im not so sure.

No Florence - as an asthmatic have you had the pneumonia jab - it is either a lifetime thing or lasts for 10 years cannot remember which.

Nasty people Flo - nasty people. You don't want to know

evening peeps, can i just say three years ago i got the flu jab because i am astmatic. 2 weeks after that i became very ill and couldnt breathe. ended up in ambulance to hospital, diagnosed with pneumonia!

now i cant prove the jab gave me pneumonia, but it was very coincidental and never been so ill. was in for a few days, put on antibiotics and steroids for 2 weeks.

since then i politely decline and not had any flu, i generally dont get it anyway, but not prepared to take the risk.

anyone else experienced this?

For past 3 years or so our surgery hasn't bothered to send out letters. If you want one it is up to you to ring and book!
I had mine yesterday.
