Might well go out in the mid-day sun.............but I'm not . I wanted to go and plant my latest purchases but it's just to hot out there .
My three Lurcher dogs are wandering round the house with their tongues a lolling and even the cat is laying about looking exhausted..........lol
Hope everyone else is fairing well in the heat : ))

Hello Julia . Latest purchase is House Leeks ( I have a bit of a passion for them .....lol ) and two trays of annual dahlias which had been reduced from £2.99 to 99p .......thought they might pep my boarders up with a nice splash of colour in a week or so .
I just sorted out the House Leeks ( as a bit of cloud had appeared ) but I think I'll leave the others till later . The ground here in Norfolk is somewhat solid at the moment ! ....lol

And the minute I ventured outside out trailed the three dogs and flomped about on the " lawn " until I came back in ............lol

Amanda, girl after me own heart. I absolutely adore 'House Leeks' or sempervivums. Re-potted some of mine the other day, and took off some babies. I planted these in a mix of sand and compost. Also, yesterday a bought a packet of seeds. I thought, as I can grown cacti from seed, I would have a go at these.
I always top dress the top of their pots with gravel to make them look decorative.
I can't grow Dahlias, although I like them. Something always eats them, even if I do not actually put them into the garden
I am going garden visiting on Sunday afternoon, for charity. I always make a bee-line for any sempervivums that are for sale. Next year, I am going to get some plastic shelves, and make a display feature of them, in a little area I have.

Ahh kindred spirits Julia : ))

They are just wonderful plants aren't they , I have one out the front in an alpine selection pot which is on the point of flowering , the flowers are so weird , I just love them .
Did you know that in Scandinavia they plant House Leeks ( hence the name I guess ) on the roof , to protect against lightening ( they are Thor's plants apparently ) , they can survive on next to nothing .
Enjoy your garden visiting ( you lucky thing ) and good luck with the seed sowing .
