i have a james jackson born about 1843/4
and works as
caretaker fatmen bethel worker
he,s born and stays in liverpool
any hints??

A fat collector collected fat from shops and hotels to be used in the making of soap.

Sounds like he may have 3 jobs.
I had the feeling that Bethel was a type of chapel, a mission hall?

He's a soapworks laborer in 1891 so that would fit.

I think you will find that a Bethel (Bethel-El) Worker is part of the Jehova Witnesses. Don't know exactly how

There is still at least on Bethel Church in Liverpool today. Apparently it is an Independent Evangelical Chuch.
