My grandson has been taken to hospital

today.He is only 11 and went to France with the school on monday.He came home at 1pm today and was in hospital by 2pm.He could not breathe.Was using his stomach musclesto breathe.They have done a chest xray,given him steroids and he has to have the nebuliser every hour.He seems brighter tonight but he still has to stay in.Does anyone know if this sounds like Asthma? Annie

Its possible, but it could be the result of a chest infection as well.

Its better the doctor advises of the actual cause x

yep agree sounds like either, when anyone is using there stomach muscles to breath , they do need oxygen and steroids, my son was in and out with asthma and chest infections, best wishes for a speedy recovery, they do worry us xxxx

there is a lot of pollen about over these last few days, he could have been attacked by some thing of that nature......
