That sounds SO interesting Claire.
I am a little upset for you that the present landlord has not answered your e-mail. Still, give him a chance, he may have may reasons for his tardiness.

Does anyone live near Spennithorn?
My 4 x great grandfather ran the Old Horn Inn in 1823 and Iv printed a photo from the internet and also e-mailed the present landlord asking if the pub had changed very much , but Iv had no reply.
I'd be really grateful if anyone could tell me a bit about it,
