I hope someone can point me in the right direction here .
I have a digital camera and when I put the little card thingy in the PC the pics go straight into Windows photo gallery , all nice and simple........until today .
We bought our daughter a camera for her birthday and she has loaded her software into the PC and now it's hijacked my photos . I'm not to quick at this computer stuff and I don't have the foggiest idea how to get my images to go where I want them .
Any ideas anyone ?? please

you need to make windows the default viewing programme.

tools - folder options - file types....scroll down to JPEG files and choose windows as the default programme for viewing.

Blast it !! I just knew it wasn't going to be that simple .

I think that because the soft ware that came with my daughters camera is more advanced than mine was , it's taken over .

Maybe I'll just try tinkering about for a bit and see if I can get used to this style of things ( have to confess it's making the photos look far better than usual , so all is not lost I suppose ) .

No, it's just set itself as the default image viewer. Did it not work when you tried to change it? What programme is it?

I've been looking at the default settings and they are on Windows Photo gallery , but the Olympus " thing " comes up when I put the SD card into the PC .

Sorry but I'm really quite dense when it comes to computers .

Ahhh, lol. Gotcha.

And it organises everything into it's own folders....?

Simples. When the olympus programme comes up, just close it and c&p your pics from my computer.

Open my computer, find your SD card (probably drive F or similar), open it, copy your pics and paste them where you want to. Or you can delete the programme if you don't like it.

That's the one , hence the reason I feel hijacked . It takes the photos and " organises " them , with lots of " face " recognition whistles and bells !!

There doesn't appear to be a " close " option on the Olympus logo that comes up but I'll go and have another look .

As I said before it does make the photos look very good but it's a bit much for me , I do like things nice and simple.....lol

Thank you for the help , much appreciated .
