It is possible that the member who sent a standard "I have opened my tree" message has a HotMatch with someone in your tree. I get these from time to time, usually from someone who is fairly new. Sometime I can see the name that has matches, other times not.

I usually send a response on the basis that I hadn't contacted them personally but perhaps they could confirm if they had received a GR computerised match, and if so what was it.

I usually find that most people who have initiated a contact to me first do reply back when I respond - it is usually the other way around when replies are less forthccoming.

Heather, I so agree with you. I must have almost a dozen people who I have PM'd, and they havn't even opened them. I know there are lots of reasons for this, but it is a nuisance, nevertheless.
I have one, who on Saturday, PM'd me with the message "I have opened my tree". I looked through my 'sent messages' and there was not trace of her name. I PM'd back, thanking her, but could she give me a clue as to who I was looking for. Yesterday she opened my reply, and did not reply. Her employment - a teacher. Such bad manners.Enough said.

Its very disappointing to see how many people read their mail and then don't bother to reply. Surely its not too difficult to reply to someone if they have taken the time to mail in the first place
