i keep getting a number coming up on my phone 0800-------- it comes up as unknown.it rings constantly,when i answer it shuts off.i just tried ringing it and it says .this number is chargable .so i shut off.any ideas of what it could be .xxxx |

Here in Aus. there's a scam going on where you get a phone call, no one answers and if you ring it back you are charged a high premium. A real money-maker. Could be something similar. |

I get calls like this every day, even though we're registered with the Telephone Preference Service. I did report one to them and we no longer receive calls from that number. However, the 0800 ones continue and I received one to-day at 12.16, with no-one speaking. I was tempted to ring it back, but am glad I didn't, having read Sue's post. I'm going to report it to the TPS. These calls always seem to come at an inconvenient time too - I was down the lavatory with my marigolds this time, but as I was expecting an important call, I had to answer it. Bloomin' nuisance! |
