Well, I think they should win a few more matches.

That way I can get to find a few more people on the 1911 on FMP.

Anyway, my money was on Cameroon and they lost ... so I don't really care who wins.

I know ... and he could afford to pay a few subs for us couldn't he?

My OH is delighted that I'm OK about the footie as I am up on the pc on FMP and he has the TV to himself!

Personally, I think it's to do with lack of team spirit and bad control of ball management on England's part. I saw 10 minutes or so of Cameroon last night and they were very good and kept the ball and each of them knew where other team members were. When I compare that to the 5 minutes of the England game I watched last - they were not there. One chap with the ball and the rest of the team somewhere else. What was that about?

AND I have no idea of what the game is about as I have no real interest in it. But if an amateur/eejit like me can spot the bad teamwork then what's going on?

When I think that years ago, the footballers were paid peanuts and a lot of them had other jobs ... tsk tsk.

Still, it all adds to this mad "celebrity world" we live in nowadays doesn't it?

My MIL lived next door to the widow of Stanley Matthews (I think it was him - I know he was a well known footballer in his time). Anyway, just a normal flat in a normal block. And the bloke had been famous in his day. Where was his mansion and celebrity status? Pah! How times change ...
