The way I look at things now is...I had the best upbringing with a wonderful Mum and Dad.I have a couple of photos of my B Mother, never met her(she died in 1994)As I said me and my B Siblings don't know our Fathers(all different)except for 2 sisters who are now no longer here.
I was sent a photo of my Gt Gt Grandmother ...............and that was so spooky as I could see me.

thanking you all for messages , in many ways it is nice to know that it is not just me who hasn't been told about our birth fathers , so much of what was writtern on my adoption notes wasn't true , which makes it more difficult to know what was true , I have great adopted parents , shame they are on holiday this weekend but even at 81 my dad knows how to text .why do so many families keep so many secrets

The way to go is just have an open mind ,because you don't know what you will find.It might be good or it might be bad.You just don't know.

Good luck Rachel, hope you find him one day.

My mother is one of 6 and not one of them know who their dad is or if any share the same father. My mother wrote to her mum before she got married to my dad asking her who her dad was. She wrote back telling her it was none of her businness and never ast again. If it wasn't my mothers business who her dad is or was them whose is it!

That part of the family research is a total dead end, I think we would have to do dna tests on all the elderly men and deceased in the small village in Ireland to determine who the man is or was!

Don't give up my OH found out who his father was after 66 years. His mother died 2 days before his firat birthday.

It took him those 66 years to find out he had aunts and uncles.

Rachel,
You brought tears to my eyes. Whoever your father is, he and your mother must have been such decent and nice people for you to have such positive thoughts.
