If I knew who her father was maybe she went to live with him for some time but Emily did not marry him. Henry William Pitkin was her step father and until I found out no-one in the family knew that Henry was not her birth father. |

I can't find Emily in 1911 on a census either but in 1901 she married Henry William Pitkin in Bethnel Green when my grandmother Lucy Ellen Lambert was 11 years old. The witnesses at the wedding were Betsy her sister and her husband Frederick Shopland. The strange thing is that it seems Emily married in August after the census that shows her in service in London. The mystery is where and with whom was my grandmother at that time. I cannot find a Lucy Ellen Lambert in London or in Bosmere where she was on the last census living with her grandfather. |

I found this too. Lucy Ellen was my grandmother and I cannot find her on any census until she married my grandfather William Walker in Clydach in South Wales in 1911. She lived there until she died in 1960. |

I am looking for Betsy Shopland born Betsy Lambert 1861 in Bosmere. She was my great grandmother's sister. Her name was Emily. Betsy married Frederick Shopland born 1866 and they both went with my great grandmother and lived in Bethnel Green for some time. |
