My grandmather Bertha Alice Morris died 1953 her death cert says she was 86 which puts her birth around 1867 , her marriage cert puts her around 1869.Is this kind of gap reasonable or have i perhaps got two different people.
The cencus reports are also confusing.

It is not unusual for ages at death to differ. Depends who relayed the information to the registrar.

Depends on who registered her death,,,the information is only as true known to that person.....had she just had a birthday to be 86 or was she near her 87th?
had she just turned her age when married or was she a year older the next day?

Hi Dave this type of thing happens fairly regular. I have a few minor discrepancies with dates. It really depends who is with them at the time of death, how well they know them etc. Hope this helps x

It was Fullwell , the confusing thing is in the 1871 cencus she is there but two years too old , the next two cencus she is not there , the parents are the same , but some of the kids seem to change .She does turn up in 1891 as a lodger , but the birth date dont seem to tie up.
