Jean....your memories better than mine, honestly and you're a tadge older than me...lol

Julie*Ann....the car is with vauxhalls now, the local garage towed it down this morning (for a charge of course!!)...machanic rang earlier to say it could be gear-box (WHICH IS WHAT I THOUGHT), AA & Vic thought clutch!! Vauxhall said we would have smelt burning if it was the clutch.....l have smelt burning in the past but never sure if its in the car or out, but as Vic can't bloomin smell its pointless asking him:o(( But we did'nt smell anything yesterday.
Definately go to Labels, they have loads of makers names and so much cheaper:o)) l was looking at a DASH gillet, light weight which was £35....reduced to £5, they only had small sizes.....:o((((
Say Hi to Howie and no doubt your OH did'nt phone from the motorway:o))

Jude, I really enjoyed the day, even the awkward bits! You forgot to tell them that we deserted the car to make a pitstop at the nearby petrol station, which was a bit smelly! The aa man was so thick, he could not understand Judes very clear directions! She had to repeat herself several times, and thank goodness he was only the despatcher, would have had no confidence in him as a mechanic!
Mind you, i shall hope that nothing goes wrong with Judes car again before the meet, as my OH cant drive on motorways, too nervous!

Oh dear Jude, that was worrying for you especially when you had a special passenger in the car. I hate steering when being towed, but maybe cos it was only in a little thing like a Metro, was a few years back now. Glad you stayed cool, calm and collected, or cool and calm till you were collected lol
Good that you and Jean could have a giggle over it now.

Sounds like a fun day. Not been to that Labels for ages although have been to one that was at Haresfield for a while and have also been to the one at Evesham, sadly the Haresfield one closed.

l got to Jeans house on time, said hello to her OH and the cats:o)
Off we went for a shopping spree and lunch.....fine so far!! Jean found a top she liked, paid for it and we decided to have lunch which was upstairs, we used the lift....great:o) Jean then found some bits upstairs, paid for them and off't we went for the lift, l pressed the button, it says " press button until lift arrives", stood there for about 30 seconds and then realised the lift was already THERE!!! lol
We did abit more shopping went to pay for it to find the till/computer thingy was up the shoot and the assistant had to make a phone call to sort it:o((......... then decided it was time to go, off we went along the dual carriageway up to the roundabout and l conked out!!!! fortunately it was'nt mega busy, but even so there was a lorry and a number of cars coming up behind me. l could'nt get into gear, eventually l turned the engine off and then on again, managed to get into gear and we moved very slowly round the roundabout and into a side road and there we stayed until the AA came.
l rang Jeans OH to let him know what was going on, in between time Vic had managed to borrow a neighbours car so he could pick Jean up. The AA man arrived and said it was the clutch and that he would tow me home......wellll l thought he would attach my car to the van and have me in the van with him...oh no, he attached a pole to the vehicles and l had to steer the bloomin car home....actually it was alot easier than l thought, he even said how well l did:o))
The car is stil under warranty so it has to be towed again to a Vauxhall garage in the hope the repairs can be done under warranty, blinking hope so we only got it in January after a deer ruined the other one!!

So there you go, thought you mght want to have a laugh with us, we certainly did.
Jean thank you for being to good about it, we did have a nice day out aswell:o)

Well, I have tried twice to finish the story, but GR is defeating me this time, it keeps losing my typing. Maybe Jude can add the rest.

Jude picked me up this morning for a trip to Labels, and we duly set off. I think the car was not going as well as Jude liked, she seemed a bit uncomfotable with it.
Arrived at Labels, no disabled parking, so Jude dropped me off and went and found a space. We then found the usual offices before staring our shop. I was looking for something useful that would also be suitable for an informal wedding in October. We rummaged amongst lots of bargain lines. Jude found a Gilet which was reduced from I think £40 to a fiver, But they hadnt her size. She is drawn to colours that would give me the kiss of death but look fine on her.
I tried on one jacket but it was too tight, but eventually found a turquoise microfibre smart jacket which I liked. Also found a white top which fitted perfectly, but could not find a plain skirt that was not too long for me. OH cant stand long skirts, though I have worn ankle lenght in the past when at work.
Have had to decide on wearing a plain brown skirt which is fairly new, that is unless I see something else in the meantime!

We stopped for a bite to eat which was a bit strange. The sandwiches came with crisps at the side, and a small tub of butter. When we looked there was no butter on the bread! So we had to undo the sandwiches to butter them and add mayonaisse which they had also brought.
Now by this time, we had had some fun, and spoken to a couple of people, and thought to go home. We were coming out of Labels which has some speed bumps, and we got halfway acro
