For fathers day from the memory box

No champagne was good enough
no cavier extreme.
remember when we trod the grapes
and chased fishes in the stream.

We didn't need no high expense
just a picnic made with love
and dad I wish you happy days
in your new role high above.

Father's Day is approaching.

Yellow roses grow in heaven. Lord pick a bunch for me. Place them in my father's arms and tell him they're from me.Tell him that I love and miss him. When he turns to smile place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for a while, because remembering him is easy,I do it every day. There's an ache in my heart that will never go away.

If your Dad is in Heaven, copy, paste and post this. xxx ♥.

What a lovely thread - a tribute to all our fantastic Dads, especially so close to Father's Day.

Janey, shed a tear at the fatherless daughters club bit - hit a nerve, so poignant.

That's nice Uzzi...love and hugs to you on your Dad's birthday. It's good to think about the time you had with him, rather than the time you've had without him.

We never stop missing them or thinking about them do we - I still can't bring myself to delete my Dad's e.mail address or phone numbers, or even to complete his death details in my family tree.

Sending BIG hugs to you Uzzi,
K xxx

Hi Uzzi.

What a lovely letter. I often wish that I could still talk to my late dad too. He's been gone since 1989, and was only 59!

He would be celebrating his 81st birthday come 7th July.

Thanks for sharing.

Aww Janey ((hug)) short one cos I don't want you to shout at me lol

I haven't changed the name on my phone so when step mum rings it still come up as Dad ..
as for internet /pc it was my Dad taught me, unfortuately just after dads funeral the house was broken into and all dads pc stuffy was stolen. Stepmummy isn't pc orientated so has never replaced.
But I can understand sending letters to cyber space.

Whirley thankyou.

I do remember the good times and I give thanks to him for them.
I don't miss him more, I wouldn't dare, it broke my heart to lose him when I did. I think of him often tho' and smile or frown, but always end up grinning.

I was lucky I knew what I had when he was alive. I also knew his life span so made the most of it.
Don't stop me wanting to say Happy Birthday mind ...or I miss him.

I set my dad up an email account while he was in Florida just a few months before he died seven years ago; he only got to use it for a few weeks, on his daily trips to the public library there, but he had fun. My brother and I both sent him the funny sketch about George Bush and Condoleezza Rice doing "Hu's on first", and he got the librarian to print it out so he could give it to all his snooty Republican neighbours in the trailer park. ;)

Okay, blub blub, I still send mail to that account sometimes.

Greetings to all the departed dads of us in the fatherless daughters club.

awww that's nice Uzzi. Mine died in 1991 and I miss him so much.

The longer he's gone, the more I miss him.

Try and think of the good times.
