Ann, what are you like, it would be Frozen Fresh Fruit Salad.LOL

Georgygirl, will bookmark this. I have never tried it before, but as we have alot of fruit when in season, I had been thinking of the possibilities. I know soft fruit goes mushy when frozen and defrosted. Perhaps I'll just test a pot, before I attempt a batch.
Thanks to Both

Hi Julia,
If you do make a fresh fruit salad,"open freeze" all the fruit first ie-spread fruit on flat baking tin making sure no two pieces of fruit touch. once they are frozen, place into your container, quickly add cold sugar syrup, and return to freezer.
I've done this a couple of times, the apples tend to lose a little of their crispness as they are thawing out, and strawberrys will mush a bit as well, but this way they do hold their shape much better. dont freeze bananas though, add them just before you serve.
Hope this helps x

I would think it would depend what fruit you used Julia, Strawberries go mushy when frozen, apple is probably ok. Wouldn't be fresh fruit salad though would it? Frozen fruit salad??

......made a batch of fresh fruit salad in sugar syrup, frozen it and successfully defrosted it. What was the consistency like when thawed.
Many Thanks
