Do you ever read those £10 Handy Tips in magazines..( £15 with photo ) and think...

"I've been doing that for years, I just thought it was commonsense" ?

Daff,
Having moved house many times, and trying to limit packing belongings, you get very good at multi-pupose items too.
I think your parasol is a great idea.
....That's an extra £1000 plus for use for certs !!

Bob, what a shame you didn't patent it yourself, lol..... but I rather like your hedge strimmer idea. I have two grown men in the house and yet there is always a good excuse for leaving the grass grow to jungle proportions. The latest *good excuse* is that two of our cats love to play in it.!

Aw Hazel, I love that story... that was a brilliant idea.

Susan, it is a parasol, not a brolly *rolls eyes and tuts* Actually, I was eyeing up those cute little pushchair parasols, they clip on, but there is nowhere on my pc chair for them to clip on to. But this parasol works really well.

Hayley, I tried a big one, but putting it up meant I had to clear tables of all my stuff first and it all became very tedious. So it is now sitting in the garden. But because it is new, it makes the old garden furniture look really sorry for itself. I might have to go and get new table and chairs. Well, new table at least.

Wmsl @ Emma. It's probably waiting patiently for you to retrieve it from a safe place, lol ;¬))

Mummo, I am sure you must have had lots, but cos you are so modest you don't realise how clever they were ;¬))

Marion, you wouldn't think it was very posh if you saw it, lolol... ;¬))

If my grass gets too tall for my ancient BnD lawnmower, I use a hedge trimmer, as an electric scythe

Susan, thinking about it it probably would help a bit in a conservatory

What a clever old man Hazel. I dont imagine it would have done his lawnmore motor much good though.

Nothing to do with parasols...but ..
The eldery man living next door to me had loads of moss growning on the concrete in his back garden he had tried raking it but it was hard work for him (he's 90 yrs old ) so he got his lawn mower and fixed 2 brushes either end of the blade ....it worked a treat for him his back garden no longer has any moss . lol

LOL, not a domestic one but 40 years ago when i was working on forklifts, the usual tools would be a ratchet, a socket, and maybe an extension for loosening /tightening nuts n bolts........I often thought about a spanner that did away with the separate spocket part..........ie a ratchet that fitted the nut.

Lo and behold(although I hadnt seen any at the time),.this type of tool is now in use for many jobs. only drawback is,
you need a different tool for every different sized nut/bolt

sadly although I had the idea in MY head I never got round to producing it...
maybe someone HAD already beaten me to it but!!!!????
