Rose, yes I was curious what they were going to do with a scan of my passport rather than asking for my bank details.
Just want everyone else to be on alert for similar scam. I know I've been feeling lousy with flu these last few days but I, and I know several others are waiting for friends to really die and I'd hate anyone to be taken in by this sick scam in their time of real mourning. I think it's absolutely disgusting. What also bothers me is that it was sent to my work address where it might also reach my colleague who is in the last few days of her life. That's how these 419 scams work. Surprised they didn't ask for your bank details.

received this e-mail today. No attachment.
Have reported to abuse @hotmail but pi**ed off so tried to e-mail her & ask how & when I died as curious.Various other questions too.

Surprise - the e-mail couldn't be delivered!

Now am I stupid enough to belive that the International Monetary Fund Fraud Investigation Unit uses a hotmail account????

Attention:

My name is Mrs. Tricia Benson of the International Monetary Fund investigation unit. Attached pictures was received and forwarded to our office here in London UK today 12TH OF JUNE 2010, requesting that your unclaimed fund be paid to Messes Jacobs Enterprises.

In the said letter of change of
beneficiary/ownership, representatives of messes Jacobs' enterprises states that you are dead and as such your fund should be paid to him as the next of kin to you.

Because of the elaborate global scam, we decided to contact you for confirmation. If after two working days, no response is received from you, it will be assumed that you are dead and as such authorisationand approval will be granted on behalf of Messer's Jacobs Enterprises to claim/receive your fund.Confirm this pictures and reconfirm your Information to me the Followings.

(1) Your full name.
(2) Phone, fax and mobile #.
3) company's name, position and address.
4) Profession, age and marital status.
5) Copy of int'l passport or any scanned identity to prove yourself.
