"1..The mother may have been married before and wed in married name?
2.Charles may not have married where Mary was born?
3,Parents may have married after Mary born?

Kay I think I have covered number 3 still can't find a marriage
have checked no. 2 and looked for all marriages in all counties. working on Charles being born in 1894 there are not that many possibilties.
Infact there are 3 1913 a Charles m Mary A Taylor in Glossop derby, or a Dora A Taylor in Nottingham
1914 after Mary was born there was a marriage to a Charles in gateshead in 1914

No. 1 is interesting as Charles, if I have the right one was only 20 on the birth of his daughter (possibly 1st child) now if they registered the child in his name (which they did) the marriage would be in Hannah or taylor being a previous marriage regardless. As the Mum would have had to go by her name.

I was ofcourse hoping to be told it's the Taylor one you want ,,and would have sent for the cert.

Kay????

Mary Jane Wilson married Desmond Aikin in August 1931 in Wigton Cumberland. She was 17 at the time and her father was Charles Edward Wilson,
In 1931 he was a labourer. (I have the marriage cert)

There are 2 Mary J Wilsons born in 1914 in Cumberland ( I am presuming that is where she came from ! )
1 in Wigton mothers name Taylor
1 in Cockermouth mothers name Hannah.

Charles Edward Wilson I have found only 1 of the right age group and he was born in 1894 Wigton. was living in Allhallows in 1901

so far so good.

I can't find a marriage which would match up. he was known a Charley in 1911 (quick preview there).
What am I missing ??
