Only people with no brain and an inexhaustible supply of stupid assumptions could imagine that any council is going to employ a 'little man' to go out and remove flags from cars ( 'by God he's fast on his feet') or the hundreds of windows ( round here) that are flying the flag...

Rose xx ( grumpy this morning and fed up with idiots lol)

Yes once and for all lets put all the bull*** to bed regarding flying our English flag,

and i might add it's not racist to fly it either, be proud of it whatever country you come from.

Thanks for your comments and Hello to you all.

Lee.

Thanks for that. It shows that flying flags is totally legal, thereby hopefully ending the rumours, speculation, urban myths and shocked outrage based on incorrect information.

Nice one.

Well Lee I have to admit that we're fence-sitters. We have an interest in both England and Australia's teams:-))

Actually I read the article and it would seem it's just a rumour. There is a reassurance that it is perfectly legal to fly your flag.

Good morning Lee hope your well, Its a load of bull and normally gives the closet racists a chance to bang on about England being English and being insulted, as we seen only here a few weeks ago, the only time I get insulted is when people think I believe every thing I read in the press when I lower myself to read it. :)))

Lee Report 10 Jun 2010 09:01

SueMaid Report 10 Jun 2010 08:51

Well admittedly I live in Australia but we are already flying our flags in preparation for the World Cup. Also hats, scarves, free give-aways in the newspapers, shirts etc all in support of our Aussie team. And you can't get much more multicultural than Australia.

"Flying national flags from windows or cars is within the law, providing they are not offensive or a danger on the road."

Oh, excuse me, I almost fell asleep there.

* It is not illegal to hang flags in windows at home
* If you plan to display flags from your car, make sure they don't restrict your sight or the sight of other drivers
* Wearing England T-shirts, or T-shirts of any other nationality, is not an offence

Yawn.

What did you want us to read? That this is a non-story?

Gotcha.

Lee

Lee Report 10 Jun 2010 07:06

With the World Cup approaching, England fans will be flying their England flags proudly in support of their country.

But rumours circulating on the internet have raised fears that hoisting the St George's flag on cars, mounting flags on windows and even wearing England T-shirts may be illegal.
