Snippets of the earlier censuses are around, but as said, they are not a great help. I've seen transcriptions of the 1831 and 1821 that cover the ancestral village up in Norfolk. They give a surname and how many men and women in the house. So, little more than a headcount really. (If I remember correctly the 1831 does break the numbers in the house down a bit by age but again, no real help.) |

Why does GR stop at the 1841 census? I really need to gather information from the earlier ones, can anybody tell me how to get hold of them please. |
