flying to LA tomorrow flight leaves 12 midday she has taken a months leave and her and a group of young men and woman are going round america , im so nervous for her and i will miss her she has told me not to text every 5 minutes because of the cost and that she is a big girl now lol its only natural i will worry xx

I am sure she will be ok.Will not stop you worring though.My brother was 20 when he went and went on his own.He bought a old car and met up with a man who offered to help him.That was in New England.From then on he sent him onto another friend in another state,and that bloke sent him on.He could not drive through every state as some you had to be 21.He had his 21st birthday in Las Vagas then made his way back through the states he could not do before.He came back to his first friend before he flew home.My brother is 40 now married with 2 children.Richard his friend is still his friend and they have both been best man at each others weddings.The Americans love us English.Try not to worry she will have a brill time. Thanks ann i think she is so brave , she has been on a strict diet so she could sample the different foods , i used to love the food bit when we went abroad, i remember a friend talking me and the kids to majorca once our hotel was opposite a burger king couldnt believe it xx

My eldest is off on an all inclusive next month to Spain. Its the first time she has been abroad with friends.
I will have a good old panic and worry until she gets back.

What a fab time she will have. I have three sons and they have all been round the world seen more places that I will ever see in my life. They all went at different times going for a year and my eldest went for 18 months, but what made me feel close to them was able to switch the computer on and follow on face book where they were, if you are not on face book go on it and just follow where they go as they will add little details of where they are. You are bound to worry, I did, but she will be fine she is with others.

O.h.'s son went to stay with an American girl he met when she was at uni here. He went with hardly any spare cash. He stayed with the girl for a short time but she got fed up keeping him so he then travelled round on his own, and met loads of people, he was about 23. He came back, couldn't find a job and got stroppy cos his mum expected him to take any job so he could pay board. He whinged to a girl he had met when over there and she sent his fare so he could go and stay with her in NY for a bit to cheer him up. Over a year later he is still there, he married her last June on his 25th birthday and now has his green card for two years and is looking for a job. She has two little girls and was teaching till he moved in, but couldn't keep them all on that so she is doing several part time jobs and he has been house husband till he got the green card. He had no problems at all making friends and getting about ok so I am sure Donna will be fine and being with a group of friends will be even better for her, they will have a great time and have loads to tell you when they get back.
S. got his taste for the States when another exgirlfriend and her family took him on holiday with them a couple of times, now I don't think he will ever move back here.

Try not to worry, altho I know I would be the same, and mind you don't run up big phone bills, it's easily done unless you sort out a different rate on your phone which o.h. has done so it's really cheap to call. Will cost her a bit to receive the calls too I think.
