Hi Debbie

For WW2 records unfortunately these records are not online nor in the Public Domain, they are still held by the MOD.
However NOK can apply for these records, here is the link to the Veterans Agency to whom you apply, you can download the appropriate forms from the site.

http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/army.html

Please be aware there is a long wait to get these records can be as long as 6 to 9 months, also a charge of £30-00.

The link explains all.

Debbie, you can write to the MOD.
They will not tell you anything without his permission, if he is still alive.
But if he is no longer here, they will tell you.
It does cost .It used to be £30.

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to get a record from WW2, my mum asked me to find out as her dad served in Burmha(not sure of spelling). Dont know anything really except he was a Sergent Major he came home after the war but I am sure like so many did not talk about it ,so not sure were to start just want to get her on to the right track as I think she would love the reasearch.
Any Tips or Advice would be grateful.
Thanks in advance and sorry if i have but this in the wrong area not sure what it would come under.
Thanks all
