Leave it at that Ann - this means that we can have a go at finding two out of the three.

it was really a bit of a Uncle Tom Cobbley and All this time round.

We will keep you on - as you seem to be always around and you have my vote of confidence at keeping us on our toes - or in our armchairs/beds with a good book.

Seen I can get two of the books from the local library.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Jun 2010 11:41

Perse but my point was that I am not always easily around, it took a great deal of effort this time as I was so busy, arriving home from 4 weeks away on Saturday and going for another week tomorrow, so I would happily hand over to somebody else and take a break.

Hi Ann
Will try to get the books although I have just found out that my nearest library is closed for the next 6 weeks while they install a lift!
I wouldn't want to take over your job (my memory is so bad I would always be late posting the threads) but if there is anything I can do to help next time (counting votes, nudging people maybe?) let me know

I have just seen the thread and have noted the date.

On the question of giving Ann a much earned break, other clubs/ committees etc., that I have belonged to have usually taken a break from all proceedings during July and August when people do seem to holiday and are away from home. Just a thought but it may work here, that is if Ann would be willing to continue later in the year as and when convenient to her.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Jun 2010 21:20

It is a thought May thank you, except I would prefer August and September as I am away a week in August and all September.

Entirely upto you Ann, you're in charge. Feedback from other members would be a help. We are usually away on and off until the end of October.

Hello
Is that" Dreamers of the day" or have I seen a completely different book?

Heather I'm pretty sure you have the right title there 'Dreamers of the Day'.

FYI I would be okay with GReaders having a break around September - I probably would not be participating around that time anyway as we are installing new software at work during the first week of September and if other 'go live' jobs are anything to go by I'll be working loads of extra hours around that time.

Sorry fellow readers yes, it should be -
"Dreamers of the Day" by Mary Doria Russell.

I'm using Holiday Brain as an excuse. Just got back this afternoon.

Ann, i really appreaciate all the work you do, and would make a terrible job of it myself, so sorry no offers of taking over from me.

I too think that it would be a good idea for you to take a break.
Perhaps we can all try harder to get out reviews, suggestions and votes to you without being chased all the time.

Have noted the books and promise to get organised (for a change).

We never have more than a week to ten days holiday a year and the odd couple of days here and there. Usually we do go either Aug, Sept or Oct and last year we didn't even have a holiday at all as he had had a foot operation in the Sept.

So - I don't mind doing it - and I will just tell him we can plan our holidays around the GReaders. This is providing you all are happy with me doing it.

I am up for renewal this month and had considered not bothering. So if I do this I will have to renew.

Persey,
that would be fine with me. I hope that you continue to use the boards whatever else you decide.

Most of my tree contacts - are contactable by e-mail and my tree would stay on here even if I didn't post though I could still PM if I didn't renew.

I thought I could diarise the dates when the GReaders are due etc and have it on my Calendar tasks in my e-mail and in my cellphone.
I do birthdays on my cellphone and it rings me and it is clever it changes their age each year as well so that helps the old noggin.

Cheers

At last i have managed to go to the library and get the books.
Luckily they were all on the shelves just waiting for me.
Now all I have to do is read them!
Plus of course, find a couple of books to suggest for next time.

Hope everyone is well.
