I thought his mother was dead after hearing those incorrect reports yesterday. -
The family are dealing with enough without this extra upset, and of course worry without this gaff making it worse :o((

My thoughts are still with all of the victims, and their families, and all those who witnessed this horrific incident yesterday x

Just woken up to the news. What a tragedy. What is it which compels a human being to take others lives so indiscriminately and cruelly.

Latest body count is now 12 people confirmed dead he has shot himself. I remember Dunblane I was about eleven at the time and hoped I would not see another gun massacre in the uk after hand guns were confiscated.

Latest news is 12 dead and 25 injured!

Like McB I thought about Cumbrian Caz and hope she and her family are okay.

Not just in America Stray.....in 1989 on a quiet Sunday a gunman (later confirmed as a schizoprehnic) rampaged in Monkseaton,Whitley Bay. He killed one person and injured 14 others, using his father's shotgun.

AnnCardiff Report 2 Jun 2010 17:57

heartbreaking news - 12 killed and 25 injured - three critically - he just killed people randomly and one has to wonder what on earth was going on in his mind to do such a dreadful thing - how will these small villages ever recover from such a tragedy? my heart goes out to all concerned and in particular the children of the killer and his mother

Jane Report 2 Jun 2010 17:38

There will hundreds of traumatised people tonight. The GP I heard talking sounded dreadful. He had witnessed two bodies on the pavement. He knew the lady I think ,but from what I an gather the other person he could not identify because of the injuries.
It's best we just all wait until we hear the correct details I think. It is a tragedy and I just feel so sorry for everyone concerned.

sad as it is Sue,thats media covereage, some people will crave every little bit of details they can, regardless that its not going to have any impact on their lives at all,,,,,!

supercrutch Report 2 Jun 2010 16:24

I have just had the misfortune of listening to that witch Kay Burley on Sky News trying to get eye witnesses to describe all the gory details plus any other little bit of info she could drag out of them.

Bloody despicable journalism in my view.

A friend faced a gun wielding bank robber in Norwich and she received counselling for 6 months and that gun wasn't discharged. How the hell do these people feel?

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 2 Jun 2010 14:36

But I thought that after Dunblane, when they confiscated all the handguns from the legal users......the politicians expected all this gun crime would stop?

or am I being cynical?

bob

ooops silly me !!

its only criminals that have guns now isnt it?

SheilaSomerset

SheilaSomerset Report 2 Jun 2010 14:34

Stray - it has happened in the UK before - Hungerford in the 1980's and, of course, Dunblane. Dreadful for all concerned.
