The email that is sent regarding Hot Matches is to tell you there are new ones, it doesn't list all the matching members individually, - you have to go to the Hot Matches page to look for this.

If you discard the matches for those members they won't come up again as a Hot Match, even if new names are matched. This facility was introduced a year or so ago to deal with just this problem.

There are other emails you can get occasionally which are not connected with Hot Matches called Family Trumps email featuring a relation in your tree with a detailed match in other members' trees.

Again you can elect not to receive these if you aren't interested, but personally I am happy to receive emails, you never know what you are missing otherwise.

if you go into your account you can untick the box for hot matches ,however I still get new matches for some branches of my tree so i just ignore the ones that come up with yes as a previous contact.I am still hoping a descendent from a couple of my brickwalls may join Genes and we can give mutual info that knock down some bricks

Why does this website insist on sending hot matches emails when you have already contacted that person? It would be really easy for the query that generates the email to look at whether you are already in contact with the suggested match. Perhaps that limits the amount of emails they can send you?

Is there any way to turn off these emails?
Thank you.
