Annie I will take a guess that she was sedated before which would have made her easier for them to handle. and hence her not being herself when at home.
I would stay with her next time or as suggested you a mobile service so you can see what's being done.

Where did you take her ?...did you take her to the place at the shops near "our" school ?

If so I get my hair cut at the hairdressers next door & they seem to think they are really good there with the animals. I do walk past a lot & see dogs going in and out quite happily.

It could be that, like with a child she was frightened by being left with strangers, and having done something to her what she normally rebels agains at home. She may have seen this as a punishment & obviously was upset & frightend for some time afterwards..

The same happened to my little dog. Unfortunately the clipper was a very loud woman who accidently cut the skin at the top of her leg (near her chest) and the poor dog is terrified of the groomers now.

I take her to one and I stay the whole time because you just don't know what happens..a girlfriend of mine walked in unexpectedly to collect her dog and saw another one being smacked around....not nice..

I'll never understand people who are are cruel to defenceless children & animals....

When your mobile lady or gentleman comes you will know instinctively whether you like them or not yourself and whether you trust them with Betty, whereas when you drop them off at a shop you have no idea who will actually be doing the job.

It's a bit like choosing a babysitter for your child isn't it? You have to be so careful.

I might cancel her appointment.I do have a number for a mobile groom.I was sure oh who does not like animals lol was being a bit over protective. Annie

We had this problem with Kizzy so we now have a mobile lady who comes to the house.

She parks her van outside and plugs in to our electric, but we are able to stay with Kizzy right up to the last second before she starts. If there were a problem we are only footsteps away, but thankfully Kizzy likes her much more than the people at the shop.

hiya you could always stay whilst its done, specky has to stay with eboney toy poodle she cries loudly thro the whole process, he tried to shave her at home, poor thing i couldnt take her out for a few weeks it was terrible hope you get on ok xxxxx

Insist on staying with her whilst she is groomed, tell them she doesn't like being groomed and want to stay with her to reassure her as she was upset after her last visit, if they refuse ask why and find another parlour . If they agree and you think they are handling her roughly tell them. It's your dog and you are paying !
Shame she is now upset by it.

Betty to the parlour on the 9th June.She is 10 months old now.She does not like being brushed and does not do what she is told.I took her before she was 6 months old and she was fine.The last time i took her she was not herself when she came back.My hubby who does not like animals but has her on his lap every night stroking her,says she has been ill treated there?Does anone know what i should look for this time when i take her as i am a bit worried? Annie
