I'm sorry to say Daff that although I like the singer, the song by Pete Waterman is so cheesy and very early 1990s. I really don't like it and I wouldn't have liked it in the 1990s either to be honest.

I doubt very much whether we will do at all well this year. 0 points spring to mind.

Sorry Daff ;) (Yes I think he has a good voice too)

I've only saw about 3 songs from the run up to the Eurovision and the one I liked very much was the Swedish entry but she's been sent home?

Wmsl.... it's ok, , I would agree.... let me clarify.... as far as Cheese goes, yep.... that, for me, is the whole point of Eurovision, lolol!! So it is *good*. It has that *boom bang a bang* feel of previous winners.... all bouncy and carnival-like. I was talking in a *Eurovision* sense of liking it.... I think it stands as good a chance as any other... if countries were voting fairly instead of politically.

Waterman has dumbed down for Eurovision, I reckon.....

I liked the Swedish one, too.

Cyprus has a band singing for them that is mainly from here, in Newport, lol... should be interesting!

Don't get me wrong Daff, I love the cheese of Eurovision, that's part of the entertainment (and Terry Wogan's comments sadly gone lol) I just don't like cheese for our entry lol

Lol 0071/2... he also has a lovely bouncy personality..... I would like to see him go far... especially as he comes from just down the road from me, lolol!

Glitter baby, he was the best of the bunch when they were choosing the singer.... it was one of those public phone in competitions. I think really star singers are not entering because of the rough time they get from the political voters..... although some aren't entering this year because they can't afford to, it would seem.

It has begun to pee me off that it has become so political rather than just a good night's entertainment and a showcase for up and coming young talent... think Abba for a start.

But, in true British style... we turn it into a cult thing and enjoy it anyway, probably because of the awfulness. It does make me sad when the good singers are drowned out by the trashy ones, sometimes, though

Got to agree he was the best of the bunch but not a star in the making
Still having said that I will of course tune in and watch

I think its got a chance to win like all the other entries in earlier years :o)))

But I still think tactical voting from other countries will see that we lose regardless of how good our song is.

Still, me & mini me will be watching it tonight...its a hoot, and although i miss Terry Wogan & his wit, I think Graham Norton is also funny, and makes the show worth watching for the laughs :o))

well fancy that..........!!!

I thought that our entry was too much like a Cliff Richard effort!!

I personally think it would have been better without that " Hit Factory" ( a la 1980's background music) accompaning it

I bet Pete Waterman is blushing today :o))

I liked the German entry, obviously it had a head start in their charts which made it popular, but our entry could have too in our charts...if it was good.

Hope they release it over here, I'm still humming it this morning :o))

I guess that the Eurovision "" SONG"" contest is now more of a visual spectacle rather than outright talent, but dont you think that the emphasis should be on the song/lyrics,rather than the presentation?
what was with the fireworks coming out of the drums?
Bob
personally I thought our effort was carp!!

but having said that I expect it must be difficult trying to second guess what type of music is going to be "" IN"" this time, but credit where its due, I suppose , I couldnt write a decent begging letter, let alone a song!!!
