While shopping in T-sco last week I was checking the best before and use by dates as instructed by OH

Reached for a crton of coconut and pineapple juice, checked date. It was 2 months out! Checked another carton, same again. The Shelf was stacked with cartons at least 2 months past their sell by date.

I reported same to female shelf stacker. She apologised and assured me it would be attended to.

I wonder how many cartons were bought and consumed ?

I often find the odd thing out of date.I just take it off the shelf and hand it to a member of staff. They could be prosecuted if found with out of date stuff I think.

It is up to the managers to give the shelf fillers a telling off here as they should be replacing the out of date items. Most of the shelf fillers here word at night (nightfillers) so sometimes they are not supervised properly.

agreed its not right for out of date stuff to be on sale...........but!!!

have you checked YOUR shelves lately?
and how far out of date would you still eat an item?

me, if its needs cooking , cooked well, then the date doesn't really matter.

I am sure that stuff doesn't " Turn" , the day after the date on the pack!!!

Bob you just need to look in the back of my cupboard!!!!! Actually it is quite good now ,but I did chuck some Jars and tins out that were years out of date.
I often find things in the fridge that have been shoved to the back which are way way out of date. They go straight in the bin.
