How long does it take before the "Gold members" can view the 1911 census.? I got all excited with the email advising that the census was available only to be dissapointed that I would have to spend 1/3 of my monthly pension to upgrade to :Platinum"
Living in South Africa, not being able to search for information other than on the internet I look forward to the release of new information

Hi Margaret .i think it highly unlikely genes will add the 1911 to their gold service while they can charge extra. They are now owned by Bright Solid who also owns Find my Past who has the 1911 census on line for a fee!!. Genes only direct you to other sites for census anyway they dont hold that info in their data base,
You would be better to either buy units on www,1911census.co.uk. or take a 6 month sub to Find my Past I think i paid £34 plus which is considerably cheaper.
