tell me what the two stars mean in front of a birth date e.g **1803

I found ** on family search, in front of a birthdate or christening and because I cannot get any further back
I wondered if the stars were trying to tell me something

If they were submitted records not extracted parish records then the person who uploaded their family history file to family search didnt know the exact birth/christening date
Submitted records should be read with caution because you dont know if the info has been verified by the submitter

of him or his parents marriage
