We have love sunshine at the moment but they did forcast rain for later so lets hope they are wrong and it stays like this all dal.
Big wipe down this morning and I hope its earlier this week than it was last week.
Em gets me things from Tesco I can't get in Asda. When we were looking for a shop to delive3r at the start of the pandemic we could'nt get Morrisons or Tesco but could get Asda so oh went with them.

Good morning all, slept for a decent length of time, got up at 0430 for the loo then slept until just before 7am. It is an uneasy sleep sometimes though with lots of dreaming.
I was right then Mel, a lot cheaper than the rest and mine would be the same whatever the day/date. Mine also gives advance choice for bookings at Christmas and Easter. I don't really miss £7.99 a month though so it is fine by me. And I prefer Tesco to Asda as well.
Isn't it annoying when we take bits in onto the carpet from our slippers. and we are all old enough to know the remedy there. One of the worst culprits is potting compost, I am always getting bits on the conservatory carpet/mats. I have a carpet shampooer but have never used it. T used it a lot but I think he was starting to think it was not working as well as it should.
Nurse this afternoon, a nuisance that the pharmacy have not been able to get the steroid cream.

I have my delivery on a Tuesday and I think that is why its cheaper. Weekend deliveries are dearer.
Its been cl9oudy here all day and with rain now and then but not a lot of it. Then about 7pm the suns decided to come out too late in the day to get in the garden.
I did some spot washing of the kitchen carpet where I yes I had walked something in on my slippers. Whether it was on the patio from me going to the chickens in my wellies or what I don't know but I emptied the draining board putting things away so round the sink there were loads of spots. Could'nt see anything on my soles and washed a couple of spots off yesterday so did the rest today with some soap powder in the water. Then last night I had gone on the decking that was wet came in and went in my little loo and as I sat looked down at the crpet and it was in there too!!!!!!
I then took my slippers off which have a black sole and there was the affending spot on my left sole. I wiped it off and it was black so not sure if it was potting compost or something nastier. I now have lovely clean spots all over the kitchen Flotex which means I shall have to shampoo the lot on a nice day. I have a carpet shampooer but it makes a hell of a noise so I have only used it once before. I shall have to get my ear plugs out.
Tum has felt a bit better today not so bloated. I did go up the border and tie up the delphinum and the smaller one which is a bit off the big one. My lovely flat iris is out too and I must try and get a pic of it tomorrow as I have missed one flower already.
What a nuisance it raining just as you had two loads of washing out Vera. Mandy was lucky with hersespecially as it waas towels and tea towels. Just love Grandad's shed sign.
Thursday at 9pm Escape to the Chateau make do and mend.

Maybe Mel has paid for a 3 month pass AnnG? Although we have a fortnightly delivery with Asda we can have a weekly one if we wish at no extra cost. We just set up a fortnightly recurring slot at the start and don't even have to book any slots unless we want extra ones. The date of your next order comes up on the site for you and you just add to it till the day before they bring it.
Yes, we were up early this morning for the window cleaner, but he didn't come so will probably turn up tomorrow, just when we both want to shower early as I have my pastel class and OH has a meeting. We'll just have to keep the bathroom window shut! lol.
I wonder if Frank saw the family for Father's Day or had a special meal?
Hope everyone has a good sleep tonight.

Good to see you Ann wondered where you were. Busy lady yesterday then. You and Mel both have Asda delivery I think. Why is yours so cheap Mel. I have a weekly delivery and can book four weeks ahead paying what I do so I am happy with that.
Vera how annoying, especially with your back to have to get all the washing back in. I am afraid I don’t bother to hang mine out it goes in the tumble drier.
Yes phone and get physio advice for your back.
The cream ordered by the nurse has not been available for the pharmacy, they are trying to source an alterbpnative.

Afternoon All,
Yesterday was a busy day, what with getting up late and then the order and sketching today's picture. Mel I paid £60 for our last Asda Delivery pass for the year. It works out at £2.50 a fortnightly delivery which is well worth it and nothing extra to pay if you order over £40 of shopping.
Did I already say I did a home covid test earlier in the week that was negative? Sorry if I did.....age! I'd had a sore throat that must have been hay fever. Well the online art teacher has to self isolate now as her daughter has tested positive this morning. Her daughter's boyfriend tested positive on Wednesday, but daughter's daily test had been negative till today and she now feels hot and has a headache.
I don't think I've seen Delphiniums that tall Mel.....what whoppers! Is it the deer or the rabbits that eat them? I hope you are more comfortable today after the trip to the hospital. Be careful with your back though. One day's wrench can mean a week's recovery! Have you removed the tick now and how is the swelling? It sounds like the mower will be better than when your OH bought it by the time he has finished which will be good if he can adjust the haircut!! Those midges eat me alive so I sympathise. Some mesh should keep them out at night.
We had more subs on our Asda order yesterday and a couple of short dates so I will be letting them know about those.
It's rained here again this morning, that very fine misty stuff that soaks you. The cues and toms in the greenhouse are growing well though.
Mandy you just sneaked your washing out and back in just in time then! I like Coin's new shed sign! He will be getting a queue outside. :-D
Gently does it with your back Vera. The physio might be a good idea if it isn't easing at all. OH can't seem to get rid of his neck pain. I've told him to try my ibuprofen gel I use on my knees but he is such a fusspot about using anything messy! What does it matter at home though and he has enough old T shirts he wears around the house.
We had to give the heating a quick blast yesterday AnnG as it seemed so cold.
OH has put the bins out for tomorrow. We needed to get rid of paper shreddings as the smallholding isn't wanting them at the moment, but the bin is too full this week.

Oh dear Vera so annoying when it rains just as you've hung washing out . I'd give the physio a call you don't know how long you might have to wait .
Mel thats one tall Delphinium, we tied the yellow rose back this afternoon as all that rain had taken it right over so we tied it yo the brick pier behind it ,I shall have to be brutal next time I cut it back as it just shoots up . The white rose in the front has really droop over too such a shame as once it has flowered thats it and its loaded with flowers.
Colin had a new metal sign for his shed from the grandchildren for father's day it says
Grandads shed Quarters Open for business 7 days a week If you think its knackered bring it to me :-D

I’m glad you got your washing dry Mandy. You did better than me. I checked the forecast this morning and it wasn’t supposed to rain till this afternoon. Just as I got 2 machine loads on the line around 10 am it started raining and I had to bring it all back in again :-|. It’s still raining now and is blooming cold for June.
Gosh Mel, those delphiniums are tall. Don’t be tempted to go up the border till you are sure you can bend more easily. You don’t want to make things worse.
I’m still really struggling with my back but I’m trying to keep moving and doing things for my own sanity. If it isn’t improving in a few days I’ll self refer to physio. I’ve done a few jobs today and am resting now. I’ve told OH that he is on dinner duty. I don’t think he can ruin cold chicken and salad, followed by strawberries.

Yes we have a window open at night but oh has the telly on when he goes to bed so they are drawn to the light. I have order one of those fly screens for the bedroom so lets hope that does the trick.
Back is a bit easier today so I am trying not to bend too much. Trouble is I want to get more plants in the border and that involves bending and digging holes.
The wind has blown on of my delphiums down so I need to tie that up too. They have grown so tall this year they must be at least 7 foot if not more.

Mornig Vera and all,
Hadf a lay in this morning. Its a bit windy here today and chily with it. Oh is out with doing stuff to his mower I think he's waiting for a bit to arrive but getting on with other things too. He is making a thing that raises and lowers the mower deck on the old one as it never had one and he could only cut the grass one length as it did'nt raise or lower so its keeping him quiet out there.
I think the midges have had a feast on me inthe night as I have bites on my face and neck and chest and I know it was'nt oh.

Good morning all. couldn't get back to sleep this morning, awake very early.. Only 12 degrees so far so not very warm. It was very cold here late afternoon yesterday, I even put the heating on very low. It is not on now so feels very cold again. that is the worst of our weather we go from one extreme to the other. Longest day today I think.
Annx was not on here yesterday, saw her on the board elsewhere so presumably just busy.
I wanted to pick some rhubarb yesterday but it grows at the end of the small path through the wild flowers, after the rain in the morning it was too wet to walk through the path so I went without. I enjoyed my roast chicken, sprouts, sweetheart cabbage, carrots and Jersey Royals though.
Nothing exciting on today.

Yes I was too when I had my minor op. Try that Mel.
I do like a weekly order Vera and I don’t go to the shops at all at the moment so it works for me, I even buy postage stamps TV paper, envelopes, all sorts so it suits until we get more back to normal. And .I do like Tesco stuff anyway. Yes each to our own, do what suits,

Just had a sleep for just over an hour and feel a bit better for it.
I didn’t realise that you were paying the Delivery Saver charge AnnG. I think with that you can have a delivery every day if you want as long as it’s over £40. I turned that down a long while ago as it worked out more expensive for me but if you like a weekly delivery it’s worth doing. Before Covid I used to have Tesco every 4-6 weeks and go to the shops or market once a week for fresh stuff. Since Covid I’ve had a delivery about every 2 weeks and I alternate Tesco and Sainsbury’s. It costs me £4 a month in total. £35 a year is cheap Mel. The main thing is that we are all happy with our own arrangements.
Mel, do you have a phone number to get direct through to the department that did your examination or procedure? Could you ring on Monday and ask them if you should still be so uncomfortable and what you should or shouldn’t do. With my procedures recently I was given the direct line number so I could phone and talk to the right staff without going through the switchboard.

Was it just an examination or a procedure Mel. If it was a procedure surely they should have given you some guidance on what you could/couldn't do.

I only pay £35 a year so never have to pay each time I have an order but I must order £40 or more.
This morning I cleaned the little loo which I use as a bathroom as it has a tiny basin in it and I can manage to have a wash in that if needs be. Oh never uses the little one. So all nice and clean now and I even scrubbed the joints in the plastic frames. Mum use dto smoke in there and the nicotine still comes out of the creases even after 11 years. Same in the spare bedroom which is next on the list for a scrub.
It poured with rain this morning and was really heavy but the gartden enjoyed it and everything looks more colourful now. It made oh come in from working on the old mower. He wants to get that one done as he wants to get back to doing the big zero turn mower.I think he is waiting for a bearing to arrive. The chap who had it before modified it to his requirements and some things never did work on it. Still it keeps him out of my way for a while.
Did'nt enjoy todays race either.......
I am itching to get back up the border but not sure if I should do lots of bending yet. I want to know what they actually did to me in the hospital and why it hurt so much.

Just checked Vera. No service charge, no mention of pick, pack, deliver. Is it anything to do with the fact that I pay £7.99 a month to get advanced orders?

You must still pay the delivery charge AnnG. With 2 of us and buying stuff for 2 weeks at a time my order is anything from £80 up (today’s is about £130) but I still have to pay the £3 charge. There is an extra charge levied if you want less than £40 delivered. I’ve just checked the confirmation email I had when I finalised my order on Friday and it clearly says Pick, Pack and Deliver...£3.00.
I had a text at midday saying my delivery will be between 5 and 6 pm.
EDIT. I wonder if it varies in different areas. The prices used to vary quite a bit here with weekends being a lot more expensive, then it was changed to a fixed rate of £4.50 or £3.00 if you were more flexible. I thought it was the same all over the country but maybe I got it wrong.

Ah, I go for the fixed slot but my order is usually (well always actually so far) over £40 so I have not had to pay anything. I did notice last week when booking that the service charge was £7 on some slots. they were all different prices.
