Well the last of my classes is done now. Within half an hour of my class finishing I cleared my paints away, cleared the fridge of some old stuff, wiped the shelves, emptied the kitchen bin, put the washer on, moved my car back from the garage so OH can put the bins out when he gets back, watered the front wall pots, got changed, made some whip deserts that OH likes and washed up the jugs. If OH had been at home it would have taken twice as long with all the questions there would have been and with him getting in the way, yet the quicker I get done the better for my knees.

AnnG I will have a google to see what there is out there so to speak!

Good to hear from you Frank! Sorry you have jarred your back now, but a bit of reading will help take your mind off it. It's a shame about John being no better, he always sounded quite well before. Poor Carolyn must be both concerned and weary so a trip out with Ros will give her a nice break and I'm sure John will be glad of some different company.

I want to get all of the sheets out next to see which won't fit anymore and get rid of them. The ones that are new can become pillowcases. The drawers are crammed and will hardly shut so it will be a good job done.

That was a good trip Mel and lunch too. Will you get the results soon?

Ha ha Mandy, quite a few saws and drills then!!! You are certainly having a good sort out in there. What will you do with the tools he doesn't want? I ask because we have a load in the garage as you know!

That was a pricy hospital appointment Mel :-D I bet it was nice having a wander as you haven't been out much only to your little shop ,shame OH didn't say as like you say you could have had a list never mind it sounds as if you enjoyed it ,what did you have for lunch .
I take it the xray was OK and now you have to wait for the results did they say how long it would be.

We've been in the shed, last count 12 electric drills ,nineteen saws umpteen chargers and a partridge in a pear tree :-D

If he is poorly maybe all he will need is a drink. I am sure he will appreciate you just being there. Hope your back soon improves.

Good afternoon to you all. Have been reding my book in the conservatory, while the rain is banging against the glass roof. Just finished the book, as it STOPED RAINING. how strange was that.

Nothing to report other than John is not any better. Eos has been round see him, and says he looks really poorly. To give Carolyn a break, I have offered to go and sit with him tomorrow morning, so the girls can go shopping. I will take a book thread. I hope he won't expect me to run around after his needs.

I trust you are all well, I have jared my back, and it's very sore. So taking it very steady. See you soon. xxxx

Nice to hear that you made the trip into a day out Mel, and lunch too well done. Good to spend money occasionally, I bet you really enjoyed it.

Back now. I had to wait for three quarters of an hour . We were there at five past eleven 5 people in he waiting area and me and there shoud only have been five at a time. Oh could'nt park inthe car park as its really small and so he took himself off somewhere. As I came out of the hosp and looked down the driveway he had just pulled up there so no need to phone him.

He then took me to the garden centre just up the road and I spent a lot of money on a new wheelbarrow, a LARGE dustpan like the one I had that oh broke a window box tray and a round pot tray 2 pairs of gloves and a small 30litre bag of ericascias (SP) compost. The total sum of £74 odd and I bought him lunch for being patient with me and not complaining or telling me to hurry up, another £24 odd. Thats the most I have spent at one time for years!!!!!! Througherly enjoy looking round the garden centre but wish I had known we would go in there and I could have had a list. There was nothing much in the way of bedding plants and I forgot to look at the seeds.

Ann It looks like there are several options for buying publisher. I didn't go as far as how much it cost but you can buy the package or buy it separately, Not sure but there may be a months free trial.

Put the garden bin out and while it was out there I took the opportunaty of weeding the gravel parts, amazing how the weeds grow and I can see several little plants of lavender so I will let them grow a bit then pop them into pots.

Well I eventually dropped off, but was too tired to be up early so the Curry's trip will have to be another time. I have 2 alarm clocks Vera, but it doesn't seem to help as I think they might not go off! lol.

AnnG I have MS Office, but it is a 2007 version that I have had since then and it doesn't have publisher. I will look if it is available in their 'store' later but will probably mean buying a full updated version of MS Office which I don't need. That's good you have sorted more things and gifted the walking boots to the charity shop. I have some that I should do the same with as I doubt I will ever be doing that much walking and in rough terrain again. In more recent years I found that lighter trainers were easier on my knees. I did used to love getting my leather boots and thick socks on though. They were so cosy and warm whateverr you were walking in.

Mel your garden is a real credit to you and your OH, it looks so nice! Those lovely little fish in your pond too, safe from the Heron! The Koi are some lovely colours too.

Better get ready for the last pen and wash class next. We have been told to have a candle handy!!! Should be interesting. OH is off to another face to face meeting later and in the city which I am not keen on. This school hasn't had one case of the virus yet so that's something and they are very careful there.

Better find a candle now!

Morning all,

Just a quicky to say it has rained here most of the night and everywhere is very wet. Flowers are flopping over.

Will post later when I get back from the hosp.

AnninGlos Report 28 Jun 2021 07:51

good morning Vera and everyone, showery rain here, can't complain as the garden does need it, only trouble is if the rain is heavy it will spoil the roses but they need water too so we can't win. Nothing much to do today I sorted almost the last upstairs cupboard yesterday, found a lot of walking stuff and took T's walking boots down to the charity people plus a few other bits I found.

Annx if you have office on your pc you should have publisher, I have just checked and I have it, I didn't go right in as you need to sign in with your microsoft password and that always seems to cause me a problem.

Good morning all

Goodness, you were posting VERY early Ann. I hope you got some sleep eventually. If you are worried about not waking early enough when you need to be up can you not set an alarm clock? Then you’d know you would be up in time and could relax.

I didn’t sleep a lot either and was reading at 2 am but there was no reason for me not to sleep. I was comfortable and felt OK but sleep didn’t come. We both tend to wake early. I was awake before 7 am and OH is up and about.

Lots of rain during the night and the forecast is for rain on and off all day. I’ll probably do the washing but it won’t be hung out. Some will get dried on the clothes airier and some in the drier. Apart from doing the washing I haven’t got any plans for the day.

Just looking briefly, one way of getting writing to line up on right hand side of inside of card (landscape) is by using the left indent button (in Home along the top in W10). But yes you are right there may be some free software for the purpose.

Annx

Annx Report 28 Jun 2021 01:12

Morning All,

I can't sleep and expect it's because I need to be up early!

It's getting the verses in the right bit of the card, right way up and on the right hand of the inside I need to look up Anng. I did try it once, but it took a few attempts and I've forgotten how I did it now. Same with words on the front! I know I can portrait/landscape on the printer, but it's working out where the print will come on a small card. I know how to get the picture positioned. I expect there is some free software if I have a search.

Ann when you press print you should get a dialogue box come up and top right it will say properties or something similar. If you then go into properties you should get a lot of options, one of which will ask what sort of paper you want to print on.

It may not be exactly that wording but all printers I have had have had something similar. It may say something like 'advanced'.

Oh yes Mel hope all goes well with your xray and you don't have to wait around to long .

Oh yes Ann I do remember ,its definitely going to the charity shop :-0

The xray is at Stratton this time which is near Bude so a different ride out. I may not come on here is the morning as I have a lot to do before setting off to get there by 11.30am.

Evening All,

A few spits of rain but that's all today. I could have put another wash out. I bet today's rain that was forecast will come tomorrow. :-S

No Mandy, get rid of the shooting stick......remember what happened to me when I fell off that one I got! :-0 Yes Mel is right about different metric spanners to the old ones. I remember dad cursing at having to get new metric ones for his car. I used to carry a few spanners in my car boot, especially one that fit the wheel nuts and that I could slip the length of pipe I also carried over it to get more leverage. I expect the schools have lost funds since covid as must lots of charities that get funds from sales. I'll see if I can find that film as you are right about poor tv. I enjoyed the first of the Devon and Cornwall programmes. It was about a fisherman at Brixham with the smallest boat in the harbour. He sells his fish from the boat. I'm looking forward to the next one.

We have had letters about covid from the health chief at the council as they are worried about cases in the area. A reminder really not to relax the rules. I see Jeremy Paxman got it despite 2 jabs and Carol Vordermann has long covid.

Lunch was delivered again today so I had time to clean the ensuite and hoover the kitchen instead of being stuck in the kitchen getting it! They forgot the container of cauli cheese this time but there was still plenty for us.

I've never used publisher AnnG, but will look it up. I need to find out how to set the new printer to print on card first. As usual all instructions like that are online. I will look at the other things you suggest so thanks. I need to get up to speed wither these things before I become a dinosaur.

I bet you were chuffed to see your daughter and grandson Vera and a nice run and change of scene too.

Good luck with your x-ray tomorrow Mel. I hope it is easy to park and that you don't have to wait long. Also that there is plenty of sanitiser around this time!!!!!!!

Lovely pictures Mel. The Rose is glorious but it is all looking good. You must work so hard to keep such a big area looking like that.
