Morning All,

Safe journey home Vera you must have really enjoyed seeing everyone and having a good old chin wag etc.

Was sun when I got up at 7am but its clouded over some here now with patches of blue. At least its not as hot as it has been.

I need to do some HW today as I hav'nt done any serious stuff for donkey's yonks. Just flitted here and there. The shower really needs a good scrub out with you know who doing all that grinding of metal the dust gets everywhere even up the glass doors. So its out with the housemaids box and on our hands and knees if I can get down there.

Morning AnnG and all

It’s a sunny day here as well. We’ve had a lovely time over the weekend being with everyone and the three girls have been a joy to be with. Son and dil were supposed to be driving us back tomorrow but son now has to be in Southampton for a couple of days from early tomorrow so a change of plan. He is taking us back later today and then driving on to Southampton. It’s a long old drive from Yorkshire to Southampton for him, especially having to detour a bit to drop us off but it seems the best way to do things.

Better go and put our bits together.

EDIT. Forgot to say thanks for the pics Mel. Pie looks great and the gongalongs look really comfy. It wasn’t too dark on my iPad.

Good morning all, sun is still shining sky pale blue with milky white light clouds from my bedroom window.
No plans for today so far except for packing :-( : :-(

Oh that explains it Mel.

Sorry the pic of the gongalongs was dark Anng but I took it in the mirror in the spare room.

Yes the gongalongs are really light weight and baggy and a bit too big for me really but thats what makes them so easy to wear and bend in to do the garden.

We are just about to tackle the pie with some nice beetroot, toms, crisps and walnuts followed by grapes.

Annx Report 25 Jul 2021 17:50

That pie you made looks really tasty Mel and I bet it won't last long! Ah I see the gongalongs are being modelled! Very nice and comfy looking they are too! What a lovely little tealight holder you have made and decorated. You have lots of patience and some nice ideas. :-)

Well done that it Ann. I think I had it for Christmas. we had the caravan at St Osyth and dad made a parking space for uor car and I put my name in it in little stones and 1959 so I was 10 but probably 8 or 9 when we had the caravan. Before we bought it we stayed in a friends chalet next to the caravan so when it came up for sale mum and dad bought it. We would go down on a Friday night and come home on the Sunday night.

Oh just said something to me and it reminded me of a balsa wood surf board I had in the 1950's. It was red and called a kon-tiki surf board with the mask on it in yellow. I have just had a look on the net and there is'nt one on there which I find very strange. I suppose none of them survived.

Afternoon All,

A good sleep again and a lie in! Waiting for lunch now. It's Just Eat who are delivering our meal AnnG. Enjoy your Sunday Lunch and I can't believe you have been away a fortnight either. It has flown by!

Mel I must get my sausage plait made this week, which is similar to what you do with your pie, as I add onion, a bit of gravy powder, garlic and maybe some apple this time. I like the idea of some chicken added! :-)

Lunch is here....BBL

Morning Anng and ALL,

Just done about 12 sneezes!!!

Pale grey sky this morning and dry and not so hot pooter says its 19 degrees.

Another coat of varnish on my clay today and a bit more gardening. I am also going to make the sausage pie again for tea tonight like I did last week as it was so nice. May put a bit more stuffing in it this week and perhaps some chicken too if I feel like it.

It dos'nt seem like two weeks you've been away Anng.

Good morning all sunny but only 14 degrees out there. We do seem to go from one extreme to the other.

We had an Indian take away from Just Eat last night which was very good. Mine was lamb Rogan Josh not too spicy.

Vera traffic was probably heavy as it is the first week all schools are on holiday this weekend was the big ‘get away’.
Leased that you are having a good family time anyway. I expect the time will go quickly like the last two weeks have done for me.

Ann hope you have a nice meal again today. We are going out for lunch today, my treat. Just a pub that does Sunday lunches, not far away.

Gwyn when I spoke to the Bank I want to change to a few weeks ago, they said they would even come out to my car to get things signed if I didn't want to come inside. Some are really making an effort with their customer service now which is good. I find the perspex screens don't help with hearing and I have to lean close to hear what they say. I am in the proicess of doing my swap now. OH did his a few years ago with the 'switch' facility too and it all went smoothly without a hitch so fingers crossed!

Vera I've forgotten how far away your son is, but that sounds like a lengthy journey. I suppose the roads will be busy now though with so many wanting to go out and visit or be visited and holiday travel with more holidaying in this country too. The Greek lamb dish sounds interesting and it's good to hear that a fifteen year old is cooking it too! Well done! Your walk by the river sounded nice and your cuppa and cake with a lovely view.

I'm off to bed now as I feel so tired. I have ordered a Turkey lunch for tomorrow again, but children's size this time so we'll see how much we get! There's always rhubarb and custard for afters if they are too small!! :-D

Good to read that you are having a lovely family time together, Vera.
I like the sound of your Greek lamb dish.

I spent a lot of time at the bank , this morning, with my daughter sorting out accounts so that I don't pay the £14.95 a month on my present account from September onwards.
I must say the bank lady was super helpful, so I came away pleased with the way it will be sorted.
I was grateful too that they have resumed face to face appointments, as I like my daughter to listen in, in case my poor hearing means that I miss something.

Dreadful journey yesterday, it took 6 hours. Dil drove son’s car which thankfully is very comfortable. We were all tired so ordered in a Chinese meal last night.

It’s lovely to see everyone and the girls are being a delight. The 15 year old is cooking our meal tonight which is some sort of Greek lamb dish. This morning we walked by the river and I was surprised when we got back to find we had done over 3 miles. This afternoon we drove to a nearby pub for coffee and cake outside. It was quite high up and the views were lovely though there was a bit of a cold wind. I was glad of my fleece.

Wrote this a while ago then got chatting with two of the girls and didn’t post it.

Afternoon All,

A much cooler night and I slept really well, but we lost the morning, as Mel would say, by not emerging from our pit till 11.00am!! We got your 75 drops of rain at lunchtime Mel, but nothing more and the sun is out now and the temperature is rising! Naughty Mona will soon costing you more than she gives you in eggs. I suppose she eats her own as well? I'm looking forward to seeing what you are making with your clay.

That's good you have more stays at your daughter's to look forward to AnnG. These breaks will be good for you.

OH is watching footie on tv and not bothering to go to a match today......he's still weary from being so hot and his migraine.

What silly idea will they come up with next. Now to help with obesity, they plan to reward families (what about everyone else?) through an APP for their supermarket shopping so that buying healthy food like fruit and veg will be rewarded. That won't help much if people then still go and order their takeaways, burgers, F&C, fry ups etc elsewhere. It also penalises those that use farm shops or pick your own for their healthier buys.

Paperwork for me next I think, as my motivation has up and left for the moment! I have been round with the 'web' duster and evicted 8 more of those Harvesters. Also watered the toms, cues and courgettes.

Been to Hqatherleigh and filled the car up and three huge cans of petrol for the mowers.

Hav'nt done the shop yet but just having a COC. Would have had three eggs today if Mona had'nt eaten two.

Morning Anng and all,

Dull and cloudy here and tht fine rain inthe breezey wind. The garden needs it though so can't complain really and it is cooler.

Not sure what we will do today but I still have ironing to do.

Up the shop for a few bits this morning then we will see what transpires.

Yur little break does seem to have passed quickly Anng but lots to look forward too with them coming to youin August and Christmas is'nt that far away now.

Good morning all. Sun still shining been awake for ages. Not sure if we are doing anything today, might be a stay home day.
Only three days left it has gone so fast. They will stay an extra day with me when we go home and will be coming down to me for four days on 23 August so they are there for my anniversary. Then I will have Christmas and New year to look forward to, three weeks up here then.
