Gosh wheee is everyone, it is so quiet. Hope Mandy is better today and Vera,s OH
Liked the photo Mel.
I had my nails done this morning so they are looking good. Then granddaughter and I went in to MK centre. I had forgotten how big it is, I am shattered. I wanted to go to M&S as I needed to use the pin with my ne card. Unfortunately they have a sale on so rails of ‘stuff’ sizes all jumbled up and the rest of the stock a bit depleted. I did get two pairs of trousers so that was ok but we had been all round the shops by then and were tired so I probably missed some stuff. Never mind I used the card. Can use it hands free now. But it was so hot in the shops with masks on and, I know it is optional but it does aggravate when people are not wearing masks.

Mornig Anng and all,

Rained in the night and cloudy this morning and not sure if its fine rain out there or not as I hav'nt been out yet. Just having my first coffee.

Leg not so sore yet but not moved about much and I sdhall take some more para's today as they worked well yeterday.

Enjoyu your manicure today its years since I had one of those. My SIL used to live in the flat above us and she was a hairdresser and manicurist and used to do my nails for me back in the 70's.

Good morning all. Bright sun so far. Manicure this morning, years since I last had one. Then in to town with granddaughter as it is her day off.

AnninGlos Report 10 Aug 2021 21:01

Glad you had a better. Night Ann, it makes such a difference.

The gardens were lovely, lots of parkland and lovely trees, topiary, a topiary sundial and, lovely flower beds, and although we didn't go into the house, the outside was very impressive.. It was warm and the sun shone So we sat outside and bought sandwiches for lunch.

Afterwards we drove to Hobbycraft so that I could buy stuff I wanted and son paid for it for my birthday so that was good.

This evening we had Chinese and champagne to celebrate granddaughter passing Sociology A level. She is disappointed with the grade (D) but she had to write three big essays for the exam that she’d had very little tutoring for and she is dyslexic. So I think it is an achievement.

Mandy, sorry you have been poorly Hope you feel better soon. Has anyone else in the family had it?

A walker with a seat sounds good Mel.

Annx Report 10 Aug 2021 20:29

Evening All,

I had a better sleep last night and the early morning banging on the old bungalow over the road has had a lull which was nice.

The walker with seat sounds like a good idea for you to get around without hurting your hips as much Mel. You can use it like Vera's chariot too! I hope the girls were kind and left you some unpecked eggs. :-) The mower makes good transport too! I bet the butterflies were lovely. You seem to be getting a few more SUBS this time.

Oh I hope you are feeling a bit better now Mandy. These things can leave you feeling so worn out as well. OH now thinks it was a bug he may have had yesterday as he had a headache the day before.

What a nuisance your PC freezing Vera. I hope it has gone back to normal again now. I take it you tried CTRL+ALT+DEL all at the same time to log off?

I hope the NT garden was nice AnnG and that you had our sunny weather while you were there. I wish I could still take ibuprofen for bad backs, but I was told not to take it because of my other medication so paracetamol it is and those stick on heat pads. :-) Your poor DIL.......so many of us have aches and pains just now.

All I have done today is 3 loads of washing. OH has done some of his work and was going to a match tonight, but after he got a phone call from a friend in his 80s who was going to the same match, changed his mind. Well I think I changed it really, as although his friend and wife would sit in the stand, and OH would be standing well away the other side, I pointed out he would soon spot OH in the 40 or so few fans who would be watching and would be over like a shot, probably trying to shake his hand and stand far too close!! We discovered ages ago that he was ignoring all the rules (vulnerable and in his 80s as is his wife) and now he is going to big events as well. After thinking about it OH found another match to go to tomorrow instead!

Oh has just bought me a walker seat thing like he has. so I don't have to borrow his anymore.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Aug 2021 12:27

Sorry you're feeling poorly Mandy join the club. :-(

Still bad now and I am just having a marmite sandwich so i CAN TAKE SOME PARACETAMOL. Sorry hit the cap lock by mistake.

Been on a little excursion over the west wall on the mower to see all the butterflies on the budlia and his sunflowers and then picked the plums off the old tree up my border.

Waited round the chicken house after feeding them as there was one egg in the nest box and a chicken. Waited for agesand oh brought his chair round for me to sit on but I was more comfortable standing leaning on it. Came back as she came out of the nest box and waited a bit longer and she went back in and then another one came in too so I came back home. May go round again after I have had these pills and see what mess I have in the nest box.

Its such a pest when the pc freezes like that. I play cards on the pc and that freezes lately so I have to come out of it all and go back in again.

SuffolkVera Report 10 Aug 2021 12:03

Have just done a post on the computer and as I was finishing everything froze. I couldn’t reboot, close down, escape. OH had a go and he couldn’t get it unstuck either so he has switched it off. I’m on the iPad now. No time to redo the post so I hope everyone with pain is feeling better today.

Might get back this evening.

Morning Anng and all,

WE have sunshine this morning. Got up at 6.48am and came out in the kitchen and saw what the time was so went back to bed. Leg still aching but it will get worse later so I better go and get some tablets.

11 subs on my order this week and 4 of them are going back. We will see what the lamb leg steaks are like too because they have been sending packs of one huge one and one thats nearly all bone and not much meat on it.

I am afraid I am guilty of not weeding files either. In our metal file there are still things there mum put in there. I did weed the car file some years ago but thats about all. I hate doing it. I had to do it at work and hated it then too.

O well better go and feed the chickens as it takes me a while to get round there.

AnninGlos Report 10 Aug 2021 09:07

Good morning all. Some sun here at the moment. Going to a NT place today. Just to the garden part. DiL suffers quite badly from fibromyalgia so can’t walk too far.

Mel I am sorry you are in so much pain at the moment. Like Island said paracetamols taken everything four hours and keep going with them, only 8 in 24 hours though and you can take Ibrofen with them. Or, have you tried Volterol?

Vera, Ah, it helps if they tell you the whole story, but silly if he really does need a face to face. Maybe the Dr will suggest booking one, but your OH does need to emphasise his problems not shrug them off to the Dr.

Annx I do hate having to sort and file paperwork. The job I should do I’d to weed files, I am very guilty of putting new papers on top if extinct ones.

Thanks girls for your advice I may take my heated monkey to bed tonight and put it on my back to see if that helps at all. My para's are two years out of date so Imay go up the shop for some fresh ones tomorrow.

Going to bed soon so see you all in the morning and I hope you all have a better night tonight. God bless. <3

I missed your post there Mel as mine took ages to post.

Is your leg pain sciatica? Not nice at all. Taking paracetamol every 4 hours (max 8) isn't going to do you any harm, they do need to build up so just having one dose isn't going to dampen the pain for long. Are you able to take ibuprofen with any other meds you take? Para and ibu are ok together but obviously, you don't want to take them for too long. If anything they may well make you drowsy which is no bad thing if you're in pain.
I hope you have a good nights sleep and feel better soon.

Annx

Annx Report 9 Aug 2021 20:23

I see I had missed your post Vera. Sorry to hear your OH isn't great and that the surgery haven't been as good as before. It seems a long time for your OH to wait till Saturday for a phone appointment. I hope you feel a bit better tomorrow too like you are hoping. My OH has been for a lay down this afternoon and feels out of sorts and has his stiff neck again. He's getting more migraines and headaches lately but I doubt he mentioned everything when he saw the doc a few months ago. You know what they are like.

That was very sad news for you about a friend AnnG. What a shame the chemo affected her so badly and then to have strokes on top of everything else. It's good you found some Christmas gifts and some books in Waterstones. OH loves that shop and they are having one in the extension to the retail park they are building down the road. I shan't see him once that is open!

Oh Mel that sounds like a nasty sciatic pain going down your leg like that. Have you tried putting your heated jacket over it? It might help.

I'm sick of sorting paperwork now but at least I've sorted a few things and filed stuff away. I also ordered me a couple of tops from Bon Marche. I keep wearing all my old stuff out and decided I look quite scruffytoo much of the time, so something different to put on will be nice. I saw a nice little wooden christmas scene in a wooden box frame that lights up online in The Works. Next time we visit the garden centre where they are I want to have a look at one. You can paint it how you want and I thought it would be nice on a window sill at Christmas being narrow and not something OH could break easily! Now we've stopped putting a big tree up I like easy decorations that don't need effort to put up!

I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain Mel. I hope you can have a comfortable night and be in less pain tomorrow. Sending you a very gentle hug <3

It sounds as though you have had a nice day AnnG but how sad to hear about your friend. I hope she can be kept free of pain and comfortable for whatever time she has left.

I was puzzled by our surgery’s response to OH’s phone call so I asked him exactly what the receptionist said and found he had only told me half the story. Apparently she said she couldn’t book a face to face appointment IN ADVANCE but he could try ringing at 8 am in the morning and if he was quick enough he would get an appointment tomorrow. Of course everyone is on the phone at 8 am. He decided himself not to do that as we have afternoon tea out booked tomorrow and we are going to help his partner sort out some of my brother’s stuff on Wednesday. He seemed amazed when I said I thought his health was more important but he’s sticking with his decision to have a phone consultation on Saturday. Men!!!

That is sad news Anng. Its good you have bought some Christmas present I just wish I could go and have a look around the shops but oh won't allow it yet so I have a look on Amazon every so often.

Back and leg really bad today. I went and had a lie down this afternoon and it eased a bit but its back now. Pain down my leg and into my ankle again. It just dos'nt seem to be getting any better. I took a paracetomol this afternoon and thats very usual for me.

No rain here today Daughter in law and I went to a big garden centre. (Frosts) and had a look round and had a sandwich lunch there. I had a bap filled with crayfish tails, Mayo, rocket, tomato, plus a side salad with rocket, cucumber and tomato and a few crisps. Bought a few bits for Christmas presents. Then we went into Milton Keynes centre and had a cup of tea in Waterstones and I bought two books The first books I have bought since 2019..
And now Granddaughter has just brought me a G and T.

Had some sad news yesterday. Heard that a very good friend, one of the Navy group of friends has Uerine cancer, had two lots of chemo, had a bad reaction and two strokes and is now having palliative care at home, not really expected to live long I think. She is 85.

Vera I am sorry your OH is so unwell and seems to be being failed by your surgery. I am sure the surgeries have been told that people are to have face to face if they ask for it.
